This spot is a true gem 💎! Something Birch Bay has needed for quite a while! I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this little cafe by the beach! The owner has really taken the time to design this place around its setting by capturing the natural surroundings & its history all while supporting local small business owners/artists & keeping up with the current trends! It's amazing! You must visit to see what I mean. There is so much I could say about thus place in detail but it would be way too long of a review. Let's just say it's so worth a visit if you are in the area. They serve yummy food items. Breakfast & lunch. Small menu but perfectly sized for the purpose of this establishment. I ordered a delicious cheese danish that came from a local bakery. It was very tasty! I also noticed something something on the menu that caught my eye & it was the fries. I don't remember the exact name of them but they were handcut & covered in garlic & parm cheese. I had to order some. They were so good. They hit the spot & the portion was generous! They serve coffee, espresso, tea, blended drinks etc. They have a great selection of ice cream as well, which will be perfect in the summer months (so please remember this place when visiting the bay this summer!) They have an outdoor patio which I'm sure will be open in the summer. Inside is so cozy with a nice couch & fireplace. They have lots of cool reading material if you don't have a book to read. It's a perfect spot to bring your laptop to get some work done when you want to escape the busyness of city life. And of course the view of the water brings tranquility to your day! You will also find trinkets & souvenirs handmade by local artists. There is so much in this little spot so go check it out, you will be happy you did! P.S. I snapped some photos including some of the bathroom lol! I had to! When I walked in I thought to myself this is so cool I must share lol! Great job to the owner of Baywood Cafe! I will be back with my...
Read moreDrinks were very tasty. Service however was subpar. Only got one drink when we ordered two. Had to ask for it before the barista started a handful of next order drinks. I watched odd communication between the barista and person at the register whether there really was another drink. Not so much as an apology or anything once I finally got it. Overall not very friendly or welcoming. The taking of orders and making of drinks seems disjointed and not sure if we’ll return at this point. You can tell they’ve invested in good coffee and quality/local products, just not enough investment in training solid customer service...
Read moreWe stopped there on THE opening day. It was inviting, the coffee was good and the staff was friendly. I got a spinach-feta croissant type pastry that I enjoyed for breakfast. It is just what Birch Bay needed. I know they shouldn't be judged on the first day, but some suggestions are plates and silverware for in-house dining. I had to eat my item from the paper bag it was served in. I think a nice touch is ceramic/glass cups instead of everything being served in paper cups. I know these things take extra space and cleanup, but it adds a...
