Finally made it to this cute, locally owned restaurant. I appreciated the sign reminding us customers they are short staffed and doing the best they can. Everyone is struggling right now and I needed the reminder to come with grace. My friend and I decided to sit on the rooftop which had an amazing view of the bay. Our waitress was great! Friendly and always on the move! She was the only one servicing the upstairs. I hope she was able to put her feet up later and was tipped well! My friend ordered a salad with giant shrimp on it. I forget what it is called on the menu. It looked amazing and she said it was really, really good. I ordered the pulled pork tacos with fries and a side or tartar sauce. The fries came in the cutest little fry basket and were so good! My favorite kind of fry... crisp on the outside and mushy on the inside! I loved the tartar sauce too! Very dilly which is just how I like it. The pork tacos... oh... my... lanta..Lanta... The BBQ sauce the pork marinates in is DIVINE. So so good. There were two ginormous tacos. The coleslaw on top of the pork was the perfect balance and just right on the crispy and the dressing. I am not sure if the corn tortillas are made in-house or store but they were so good too and held up really well with the pork and slaw. It was SO much food! I was able to eat all my fries and just one of the tacos. I was really sad when I got full because everything tasted so good! They also have Kulshan Amber ale on tap which was a bonus as it's my #2 fave amber. So yay! The ONLY negative I have were the plethora of little spiders and webs at our table inside. (We ended moving inside when the breeze got top cold.) I hate spiders and I just have to wonder to what detail do the cleaners go when cleaning the restaurant. I didn't complain though because our dear waitress was busting her tooshy doing the best she could and it really wasn't her fault. Or maybe it was? I doubt it and actually wouldn't blame anyone but would suggest paying more attention when cleaning?
Anyhoos, I would definitely recommend this place and will return again and...

My family and I have been coming to Bay Breeze Restaurant for the last 3 years. It is always a highlight of our trip because the food and service is always top notch. I normally don't write reviews but I have never had such terrible service before.
We brought in a large group of 8 and we raved to our family about how amazing this Restaurant is. Carli V. was our waitress and right off the bat, she already didn't have a pleasant demeanor about her. She seemed annoyed when we would ask her questions about the menu, or what a favorite was. Most of us ordered the fish 'n chips. The fish was so dark brown, like it was cooked in old oil and the breading was mushy and undercooked on the inside. And overly oily. All of us had to take the breading off and just eat the fish. The smoked salmon mac n cheese was so salty, that she couldn't even finish it. We were never asked for refills and we didn't even have enough silverware. Or asked how our food was. When we told Carli that we weren't satisfied and we asked for the manager, she rolled her eyes and started arguing with my father. The manager came and she still continued to argue with us and was so unprofessional. I asked Carli to please leave and if we could just speak with the manager and she said no and didnt grant our wish. The manager was nice, discounted our bill, after he was asked if we could be some how compensated. At first, he just tried to offer us 3 desserts to go. Sadly, we will not be returning and telling other people to not eat there. I have never felt so disrespected by a waitress before, just by mentioning that the food was not good and undercooked. ALSO, if you have a party over 6, they automatically put in a 20% gratuity. We were forced to pay, even after our awful experience. Do not eat here and just save yourself...
Read moreHonest review of Bay Breeze. Took my mother in law here for her birthday we ordered 2 orders of the rock fish, 3 orders of fish and chips for the kids, an order of the salmon pot stickers and I had the Korean chispy chicken sandwiches. Sadly there weren’t many people in the restaurant, but that’s Birch Bay in the winter. Pot stickers were light and filled full with salmon and filling. Came with sweat chillin sauce that my wife couldn’t stop dipper everything into. Rock fish was cooked perfectly! Flavors were perfectly paired with the addition to the fish, and the asparagus was cooked to a perfect texture, not too soft that it was mushy or too under cooked that it was hard to chew, just the perfect crunch. Fish and chips were to die for, not too heavy on the batter and cooked perfectly. served with true french fries, home made tartar sauce that was light and delicious and the coleslaw that serve with it isn’t saucy and had just the right amount of dressing on it. My chicken sandwiche was again cooked perfectly. Had no heavy grease feel when i bit into it and the sauce used was pair excellently. Great crunch from the batter, and again not too heavy.
My only complaint is the service was a little off and felt slow. We placed our orders and the kids food came out first, which is fine, keeps them occupied, but it took about 15 min longer until our meals came, meanwhile I looked around and people who came in 15 to 20 min after us had gotten their food already and we were stuck waiting. Our kids had finished their meals by the time our food arrived.
In closing, will we be back? Absolutely! I truly hope they can service the winter, and we need more Birch Bay locals to come here. Dont trust the google reviews, cause they are wrong. Go here and eat, you won’t be...
