The restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived for dinner around 7:30PM. We were greeted by friendly staff dancing around and joking with each other at the host stand (that is the one star). We waited a full 7 minutes after being seated and saw two other tables be sat and greeted. At this point we came to the conclusion that we had been looked over. My husband walked to the host stand and asked for a server. 3 minutes after having to request a server, Courtney arrived to our table. She was friendly enough but did not even acknowledge the fact that we had been waiting 10 minutes to be greeted. We ordered two margaritas, a kid’s chicken tender meal, a number 23 (one taco, one burrito, rice and beans) and the Las Trojas Special which consisted of a tamale, burrito, taco and a chile relleno. I am nearly positive that the margaritas were from a José Cuervo bottle that you can buy at the liquor store. The Kids tenders arrived early and burnt to a crisp. Our food arrived shortly after and incorrect. My husband and I both ordered chicken and received beef. Courtney never came back to the table to do a quality check. After waiting about 5 minutes we were able to flag down another server. He without any prompting said, “Those chicken tenders are burnt!” We also let him know that our orders were incorrect and he cleared them from the table and assured us he would correct the order. Our corrected orders arrived and though they were at least what we actually ordered, they were practically inedible. The chicken was watery and tasted like it had been boiled with no seasoning. The beans and rice tasted about like what you would get in a frozen dinner and that is being generous. By the time Courtney finally did return to our table, again not acknowledging that the chicken fingers initially came out burnt or that our orders were incorrect, we asked for the check and left. Save your time and money and skip Las...
Read moreHorrible lunch experience with my two daughters after Church today. Always make sure the prices on your check are correct. I do not know which was funnier, the fact that the manager told me the reason why our simple order was wrong three different times was because our server and the kitchen staff "don't speak English" or that the sales tax rate in Shelby County is up to 28%. It took 40 minutes for the food to be delivered as we watched two other tables that were seated 10+ minutes after us get their food first. We ordered a kid's soft taco with just chicken on the taco, no cheese, lettuce or tomato, a kid's chicken quesadilla, with just chicken and cheese & one chicken soft taco. First delivery was kid's soft taco with everything on it, a kid's enchilada and a soft chicken taco. Attempt #1 = 1 correct item. The second delivery was an adult chicken quesadilla and a kid's soft taco with everything on it. Neither had rice and beans. Attempt #2 = still 1 correct item. The primary food items on the third delivery was correct; however, there was still no rice and beans. Attempt #3 = still 1 correct item. Finally on the 4th attempt, they were able to get all 3 items correct. Now for the check. The soft taco was $3.60 on the menu but $4.60 on the check (a 28% increase). The kid's meals should have been $7.95 per the menu but was $8.95 on the check (a 13% increase). They also tried to charge me $11.75 for a grilled chicken quesadilla. The manager told me that the tax was calculated in the line-item charge and that is why it did not reflect the menu prices; however, the receipt clearly shows a line item for tax below the subtotal. Final bill was $20.00. We will NEVER visit this...
Read moreCame in and were sat immediately right next to an exit door even though there were about 50 other empty tables. Our server was very sweet at first complimenting my girlfriend, her sister, and their mom, but gave us cold, stale chips as a starter. When asked if we needed a few minutes (which we did nee, our server checked back on us twice in the span of a minute and a half giving us no time to decide before we finally decided to order because we didn't want to be rushed anymore. It was fine. We were having a good time, and we are very easy going people. I work in food, so I know when it's closer to close, servers are ready to do their cut work and leave. After ordering, our food came out fast and hot, but an order was wrong. We were very understanding when the chef came out to try and make sure the problem was solved. As he was fixing the mistake our waitress made, our waitress came up and said that it was our mistake. We told her wrong. The mistake was fixed, and we began eating while eating, one of the servers came and stood by the door we were sat next to multiple times and would look around outside. No big deal. When our checks were given to us only a few minutes after we were given our food, our server asked if we would need to go boxes (keep in mind we've had our food for roughly 5 minutes). When she came to see if we paid, she waited for us to give her our money. Not patiently. She said she needed it now so she could print all of her tipsout so she could leave. The food was ok. A little bland. The menus were overwhelming. Overall, a very...
