I had seen this place for months and months. I have no clue how long they have been in business here. The Real Taco is such a bold statement for a restaurant to use it as their name. I hope that they plan to back it up. So here we go!
As I arrived I noticed two separe doors, one for dine-in and one for take-out. As I entered I noticed the sign that I can seat anywhere I want. The waiter quickly showed up and offered me drinks and also brought chips and salsa. Once I saw the menu, there was no doubt what I was going to get: The Birria Tacos. Why so? I grew up eating this back in Mexico and I since, I have fallen in love with it. If people realized how hard it is to find good Birria, they would understand why I cant pass this opportunity to try it! While I waited on my order I went to go check on the bathrooms. They were on the take-out side of the building. My tacos took about 5 minutes to arrive at my table, warm and smelled amazing! The smell gave away these were goat!!! Fierro Primo!! The taste was just like back at home!!!! 🥹🥹🥹🥹 fond memories from this moment! The rice and beans were an added complement to the already good experience I just lived.
So what is there left to say? Well there is no doubt that this was amazing. I do have a couple of observations.
the parking lot is rough primo. the bathrooms need a little bit of attention. the floor at the time I was here really needed someone to sweep it.
Gracias for the...
Read moreWhen they claimed to be the best tacos... boy, were they correct! The BEST tacos. It's so hard to also find a good fried taco, but oh my lawd, a fried fish taco with a flour tortilla and I'm in heaven. Look. I'm also not a tamale person. Unless it was straight from Mexico, it's usually not a good tamale. I figured I just didn't like tamales! But wooow their tamales are amazing!! Turns out they make them like a whole day in advance and have a limited amount of them because they make their tamales with the power of the tamale gods and love. Don't even get me started on their rice. I like tex mex rice, right? But THEIR tex mex rice is chefs kiss. 100% recommend their pastor queso, too. The only "negative" I have is sometimes the staff are a little slow. But the food is worth it! 😋 My husband gets their giant af burrito. I don't even know how they wrap this huge thing. It's bigger than some babies! He can get like 3 meals out of it. Though of course he eats it all in one sitting and he's in a coma for the rest of the day 😂 Their drinks are good, too! Ugh, now I'm craving it! Thanks google reviews for requesting a review for the Real Taco. Now I'm hungry for it. THE BEST PART? THE PRICE! Tacos 4 Life is down the road and it's like 3x the price as this place. If you don't like this restaurant, you probably have taste bud issues. It's packed most the time, so go...
Read moreIt should be called "the Fake Taco", the food was just okay. The pork Tamale was dry, the flavor was okay. The chicken Tamale was moist enough but it had no flavor. The Shrimp Taco was good, it did not hold together well and the shrimp was cleaned and flavorful. The real disapointment was the customer service and the Birria/red tacos. I ordered the red taco combo, it came with 3 red tacos and rice and beans and dipping sauce. The tacos were very bland and the meat tastes as though it was boiled in plain salt water. It tastes like a pre-made roast that was microwaved. I took two bites and I could not finish it. I rarely ever send food back and ask for them to not charge me. Usually when I do, the server and/or manager apologize and offer themselves to take it off the bill. The manager or owner or whoever he was, he seemed upset at me as if there was something wrong with ME the customer and not his food. I am a mexican, I know what a taco is supposed to taste like and I know what Birria is supposed to taste like. I usually give restraunts second chances, but I will not to this one. We also sat around waiting forever for the check. Do yourself a favor and go eat at a Taco Bueno instead of the "Real" Taco. This was one of the most disapointing experiences I have ever had at...
