Whenever we come to Blackhawk we have at least one meal at Twenty-Four 7. At times it may be breakfast and others maybe a late snack before bed. I travel with my mom and my husband and while he is usually off playing poker I entertain her by walking around town (mostly playing slots and eating- her two favorite things). Because neither of us eat much (both cancer survivors) we usually split a meal and at times try to save room for her favorite (dessert- feed that cancer!). Tonight we decided to get a light meal before we retreated to our room and both of us had been planning to try the Monte Cristo with a side of fries. Our server started off pleasant but two women ordering watering and splitting a meal I guess wasn't building her ticket sales and didn't expect much of a tip. Needless to say ALL her attention went to the 4+2-1+3-4+0=? table of men. During the configuration of the tables and how many guests were joining the guys another young man brought out our horrific looking sandwich. The bacon looked like it was leftover from last week, the ham had greenish/blue around the outer parts, the turkey was like rubber and the bread was undercooked (the egg still oozing). NO FRENCH FRIES! I let the young man that brought the sandwich out know that we had ordered fries and asked for some syrup for my mom- fell on deaf ears. By the time the server circled back around to us the half that we managed to salvage and stomach was done, while I took the other half to show the disgust to my husband. I pointed out that the French fries weren't brought out and that I advised the young man and with an attitude she asked if I still wanted them 😳. NO THANK YOU! I know Blackhawk is a tourist town and I whole heatedly thank all of the employees that make the trip out there everyday so we can patron these establishments... But this is unacceptable as we pay good money to stay, play and dine here and when I'm traveling with my mom (early onset dementia) I try to keep the experiences as positive as I can as she gets agitated easily. What is even more disturbing to me is that NO Manager walked the restaurant in an effort to assist the servers and ensure that the guests were having a pleasant experience. To be honest I haven't really found a great restaurant here in Blackhawk but occasionally we get good service and it makes up for the subpar food options. When it comes to Twenty-Four 7 we never achieve good service or good food. After tonight we will not be patroning this establishment again and worse yet my little $18 sandwich had I been given decent service would have landed our server a $32 tip to round our meal up to $50. As I said... We are greatly appreciative to those that travel here to work. Our Starbucks Barista gets an easy $20 on a $12 order. Never judge a book by its cover and I pray the questionable number of men that sat left you a great tip! 10/10 DO...
Read moreI have been to this restaurant many times and never had an issue. Our waiter, Gabe, was fine at first. However, we ordered the appetizer onion rings (which was the only thing my mother ordered) and we had to remind two separate people they had not been brought out with the burgers that the other two of us had ordered. 10 minutes after the burgers came out, a small side of onion rings arrived, which was not correct. We ended up splitting the burger with my mother while one of us ate off a napkin due to no extra plates being brought out or offered. I brought this to our waiters attention after he dropped the check off and requested the $6 side of onion rings be taken off since they were the wrong item AND they took an extra 10 minutes with multiple episodes of prompting from us.
I was met with immediate pushback and he said he would get the manager. The manager (who did not introduce herself) came over wearing an ill-fitted blazer and instructed me to look at the state of the restaurant to visualize how busy they were. I told her to forget it and just run my card as this was not worth the trouble anymore. She said she would speak to the floor manager (seriously, over $6???), Gabe then came back and dropped my card off with a receipt that had no itemization; he said nothing to us and made no mention of it had been taken off or not, so who knows if they actually did anything about their own screw up. I will not being going back to this place and I nearly always tip 30% and never complain about anything.
Immediately after this mess, I proceeded to win $750 on a free play slot machine, so I guess it all worked ou...
Read moreUpdate: 8/14/2025 -- Two more great meals at Twenty-Four 7. I enjoyed the Santa Fe Chicken Salad, very flavorful with a generous portion of marinated chicken breast, along with plenty of cheese and just enough black beans to let you know they're there. The chicken was perfectly cooked. I ordered mine with a side of guacamole to add to the mix. Service both nights was perfect in every way. Partner had the fish and chips the first night, and the salmon (without the blackening) the second night. At the end of the evening, we took a pepperoni pizza back to the room for a snack, and it was so good we ordered another one the second night.
Old review -- We were in Black Hawk for a couple days and we enjoyed a lunch and a dinner at Twenty-Four 7. The food was well-prepared and nicely presented, the service was perfect. Ambience was just right with plenty of casino energy, yet not too loud for quiet conversation. Highlights included chicken tenders, fish and chips, and clam chowder. I'm cautious about ordering ethnic food in a non-ethnic restaurant, but I took a risk and ordered the combination lo mein from the wok menu, and l can't wait to order it again. Dinner for 2, including a tasty IPA draft, was about $70, in my opinion an...
