I read all of the other negative reviews, however, this was the only hotel I could find that allowed my dog. Check-in is posted as 4PM. Due to bad weather, we gave ourselves plenty of time to make the trip from Denver to Black Hawk, arriving around 2:45PM. I had seen other reviewers mention paying $10-$20 for an early check-in, which I was fine with. However, upon attempting to check-in, I was met with Dan, a very unfriendly fellow (and only employee at the front desk), who advised me no rooms were ready. I mentioned my dog in the car, and asked if he had an ETA, to which he replied "you can check back every 5 minutes, but I can't promise anything until 4." Okay, fine. We came back to the desk after 4 PM, and we were told it would be another 45 minutes. Without being asked, or otherwise provoked, Dan felt it important to say "I can't make the housekeepers go any faster, and I'm not going to clean it myself." Okay...We went back for a third time to the desk, and now Richy, whose name tag states he is the supervisor, went to check on the housekeepers' progress, and upon return, informed us it would be another 30 minutes. At this point, I was pretty perturbed. I had been very cordial and polite, despite Dan's sour attitude from the get go. Remaining so, I explained to Richy that we had been to the desk three times, that it was well past the 4PM check-in time, and in the meantime we had a dog sitting in the car since he wasn't allowed into the facility other than in the room. Richy tapped away at his computer, and stated "the best I can do is 15 minutes"...okay. We left the desk, came back again in 15 minutes, and by the time we were in our room, it was past 6PM. The room was unremarkable, other than there was pretty significant damage to some of the furniture, and the wall paper in the bathroom was peeling something fierce. Also, the room had to be at least 85 degrees (in fact, we opened the window and turned the HVAC off for the entire 2-day stay, and the room never got "cold". Mind you, this was directly after our worst Colorado winter storm of 2024). Upon closer inspection, there was no TV remote (mentioned in another review), nor were there any bottled waters (which are supposed to be partial justification for the "resort fee"). Based on the previous experience we had had with Dan and Richy, we found it not even worth our time to bring this up to the desk. Oh, and my brother's bed was full of "crumbs" of some sort. Again, not worth trying to get rectified, as we had already been told earlier that part of the delay in our room being ready was a shortage of sheets (what hotel has a shortage of sheets??). So today, we went to check out and no one was at the desk, something also mentioned in other reviews. We proceeded to the kiosk, which was not working. So, we had to walk completely through the Lady Luck, into the Horse Shoe, to their desk (the desks are on opposite ends of the respective properties, so it was a trek), where low and behold, Richy was behind the desk. The girl that offered to help me was fine. I explained to her that I didn't want to be charged for the missing remote, nor were there ever any bottles of water in the room. She said, "oh, did you let someone know?" and I told her that Richy and Dan were both pretty rude and it wasn't worth the effort. At this, Richy popped up out of his seat, and started in with his defensive, snotty attitude. I told him that I'd be leaving this review, in hopes that Caesar's corporate sees it. He then said "well, my boss' name is Chris, and he will be here tomorrow"...almost like he wanted me to keep my concerns within the hotel. I told him I'd be expressing my concerns elsewhere, to which he replied "go right ahead". I was never once ugly, never once was unreasonable, and tried to give this hotel every benefit of the doubt. I'm not sure why the employees found it necessary to be so hateful and condescending. A simple "we understand and we apologize" would have...
Read more2nd time here. First time we were told about noisey elevators that can be heard in the rooms. Front desk offered for us to stay in a room where we can't hear it. Got to the room and immediately and constantly heard the noise they were referencing. So we went to the front desk a few hours later to ask for a quieter room and was explained that we should've asked for a room "very far away from the elevators" instead of "away". Maids always knock before check out, even with your privacy please sign on the door. Our first stay a maid walked in in less than 2 seconds after knocking!!! Wife was in shower(+45minutes before check out) I was in bed.
Carpets are crusty in spots. couldnt use ac in one room bc someone had presumably dumped a bottle of perfume in the air intake. Hot water faucet in one of the rooms didn't work. Front desk is basically always empty. Yesterday a sign said be back in 30 minutes with the arrival time written down. One problem was that ....(excuse me, maid is knocking on door again 59 minutes before check out!!!!!) The return arrival time on the 30 minute sign was 50 minutes away! None of the beds have fitted sheets, so when you roll around on your cheap, double sided pillow top mattress, you end up on nasty bare mattress. Coffee in the room is some garbage brand keurig. In colorado but not a single place where you're welcome to smoke cannabis. I understand it's out of your control when it comes to smoking inside, but outside, on a patio... or concentrates inside is well within your control. Service at the bar is horrendous(large Hispanic lady). Couldn't count the amount of times she ignored customers or the gasp that came from them when they realized how terrible her customer service skills were. More people walked away from the bar and went up the escalators than recieved drinks. ( maid just knocked on the door again.) Careful with their video poker machines. For 100s of hands, I never got more than 6 useless hands in a row(happened only once). Then next I increased to max bet,I lost +12 hands in a row. Playing Jack's or better. Wife just explained to me the reason the maids haven't walked in during this visit is because the 2nd lock in engaged on the door this time.. wonderful... I guess this lock prevents their electric card from unlocking the door. Since the privacy sign hanging and the fact that we haven't checked out doesn't mean anything. A warning sign that says maids will barge in if this lock isn't engaged would be nice. And maybe another one that explains the privacy signs only work for other guest you're visiting with and none of the employees. Just called front desk, no mute button. Apparently you're not allowed to have privacy here. ((Maid is knocking again) 22minutes before check out). Surely this is...
Read moreThis was by far one of my worst experiences in a hotel. First we asked if we would be able to upgrade our two rooms into one when we got there. Theresa was checking us in and said that we would have to talk to the host about upgrading. There was zero attempt to reach out to the host to even see if it was possible and expected us to hunt down the host on the casino floor and ask ourselves. There is a resort fee of 16.00 for two small bottles of water and a couple cups of nasty coffee. I always thought these were complimentary in hotels?? There isn’t a pool to swim in or an exercise room. Rooms were clean but there were stains on the ceiling and the air conditioner in one room didn’t work and had a broken picture in the wall. When I asked Theresa at the check in counter if we could change rooms, all I got was a bad attitude and a cop out that the maintenance man had to look at the ac before switching rooms. No apologies or attempt to make the situation better for a paying customer. Maid service brought us up a box fan and the maintenance man came up for 30 seconds to tell us that it was working just fine. It definitely wasn’t working because the temperatures in the two rooms were totally different. One was cool and the other was baking. The door ti the room shocked every person that touched the door handle. If we would of had a pacemaker or something metal on us it could have been bad. They never changed us rooms. I tried to call down to the front desk three times to request to a late check out, but no one answered so I went back down. Surprise, surprise no one was there. I flagged down another employee and was told that I had to walk all the way across the casino floor and go down a flight of stairs to another section of the building and the people down there would pass along my request to the hotel. When I requested a late check out they told me it would be a $10.00 charge for a noon check out and a $20.00 for a 1 pm check out. I honestly was so frustrated that all u could do was walk away mad. I also decided to share my terrible experience with anyone who needs help deciding not to...
