My wife and I ate here on 12/16/23. We had an early reservation, 4PM and were excited to try this restaurant. We had heard some good things about the Teton house. We arrived on time and were struck by the nice entrance and the inviting look from just inside the front door. We were greeted with a luke warm reception and immediately led down stairs into mixture of old and antiquated furnishings and a nice looking bar. It was chilly and did not give off a warm comfortable feeling. Our gentleman waiter arrived and took our drink orders. He came back to the table and I asked him about the Denver Wagyu and he said, "it was a steak". I looked at him and said "come on man". He proceeded in a humph and tried to describe the cut to me, ending with a half hearted, "it is my favorite." I wasn't sold and ordered the Bacon Wrapped Fillet, medium rare, smothered in Crab meat. My wife ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu. We both ordered a salad with blue cheese dressing and an appetizer of Stuffed Mushrooms. Our salads arrived before our appetizer. The gal that brought them to us did not say a word. She dropped the salad plates onto the table with a noticeable clank and slid them in front of us. She turned tail and walked away. My wife and I looked at each other and then at our salads. One was huge and the other one was half the size. We adjusted them out and proceeded to eat the salads. The blue cheese dressing was pretty good. The stuffed mushrooms arrived about 10 minutes after we were finished with our salads. The mushroom were the best food we got there, but they took way to long to arrive after out salads were finished. Our food arrived before we were done with the mushrooms. That is just the way this meal went. My steak arrived without the crab like I ordered. The waiter took it back and said it was only a sauce and would be back in a minute. My wife's chicken was dry and the some of the bacon wrapped around it was burnt. She didn't tell me this at the restaurant because she doesn't like to complain. My steak finally arrived back at the table about 5 minutes after being returned to the kitchen. The waiter put the plate in front of me and left. The crab meat was very limited and was a waste of money. When I cut into my filet and found it well past medium rare, I looked at my wife and said I had waited too long and was not going to send it back. The waiter came and asked how our meal was and we told him it was ok. And that is what it was, not great, not outstanding, not even good. The meal and 3 cocktails with a15% tip was $160.00. Not even close to worth it. The attitude of the employees that were downstairs was horrific. When we left there was still nobody sitting in the restaurant upstairs. When we made the reservation we should have been told we would have to eat in the basement. This place was completely overpriced and the staff that waited on us should be working at McDonalds. We expected a whole...
Read moreThis was my first experience at Teton House. I had heard a lot about it but never went. I went with my wife and another buddy. I had the pork ribeye. It was very juicy and had a good flavor. I had mashed potatoes as a side, and they were good. The side salad I got was really good. A variety of greens and nice toppings. With our main dishes, they came with Brussel sprout pedals, which were interesting. Maybe they needed a little seasoning or at least s and p on them. Overall, mine was delicious. The only thing is I wish the ribeye was a little bigger, or maybe I was just hungry that night. Mine was good enough that I would order it again, but I'm also curious to try something different. My wife got the chicken cordon Bleu. I didn't try it, but she said it was really good. Her sides were the same as mine. My buddy ordered the red stag tenderloin. He wasn't sure what to think of it. Wasn't gamie like deer or elk, just had a different taste. He said he would not order it again. I think one thing that would have helped is coming out more med rare or rare. It was more med well to well. He ordered it med rare. His sides were a house salad and French fries. Enjoyed both sides. He also ordered stuffed jalapeños. They were okay. The filling was ingesting. The sauce on them was really good. Would I go again, sure. I know the prices of all food items have gone way up, but I have a hard time paying $40+ for an 8-oz piece of beef. I know they are wagyu, but whatever. The atmosphere was really cool, and the owner came out to talk to us for a few minutes. Super nice guy and the staff was really great! Before our food came out, we went downstairs and checked out the awesome history. Very cool and fun! We went during the week, so it was slow, but I'm sure the weekends get crazy busy. Can't wait to try them again. I would have posted pics, but...
Read moreI am so happy that the Teton House has returned to Blackfoot!
Their new location is very charming. The esthetic is welcoming and easy place to relax and enjoy excellent food.
We came during their soft opening. We scheduled reservations a couple days in advance. When we arrived, they were ready for us with our choice of seating. The seating was comfortable and welcoming. We were able to eat and enjoy the music while being able to have a nice conversation between the two of us.
The service was exceptional! Our server was working as a server for her third night. Even though we were aware that she was new to the role, she was attentive like a pro! She kept our drinks full, was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to offer suggestions that were helpful to us. She was cheerful, and welcoming- a great addition to our experience!
The owner was walking around the restaurant assisting the staff and mingling with customers. He visited with my date and I for long enough to have us truly feel welcomed and privileged for the visit. It was fun to be able to talk with him and learn about his passion for the Teton House, which was obvious is more ways than I can count. He was charming and friendly- and we both thought he should create a sharable playlist because we also enjoyed his choice of music!
The food- We both LOVED our meals! The food was all well-prepared and flavorful. The portions were exceptionally generous and well priced. Each dish was prepared skillfully and presented beautifully. The food is 5 star quality served in a place that you want to stay in. I can't say enough about the experience, the service and the food. This restaurant is a MUST and one of the greatest...
