(Note: this is straight from my yelp review of their truck) These fools were at the freedom festival and I’m still pretty bitter about how they handled everything. Sort of glad this is their first yelp review because they handled everything poorly. First, slow as all hell. Second, no one even bothered to manage their line because it was mixing with another truck’s line and then blocking through traffic for people trying to get by. And third, zero f**king common sense, which shouldn’t be a surprise. I was standing in line for AT LEAST half an hour. Care to guess what happened when I got to the front of the line? “Oh we don’t take card.” Despite the, generally universal sign that cards are accepted, giant white Square device in their window, they weren’t taking cards. Maybe the card machine was down, maybe they just don’t take them at all, problem is, only way to find out was to wait in line to have them tell you as soon as you reach the front. No sign, no announcement (despite the rapidly growing line). What kind of lunacy is that? I mean, the dude serving drinks, not making them but serving them, was busy socializing with everyone else who’s money they already collected, couldn’t be bothered to give a quick update of “hey we can’t take cards right now.” How is something that is a basic and common courtesy such an afterthought? Anyways, freedom festival was great, still mad I didn’t get to have my hot...
Read moreThe most horrific service I’ve ever received. I don’t say that lightly. It was horrible. I called wanting to find out the name of the owner. I spoke with an owner a couple years ago who was wonderful but couldn’t remember her name. Now that I’ve done some research, it looks like it may have changed hands? Regardless, the lady on the other end was incredibly rude and was refusing to give out the name of the current owner which is fine. I would've said thank you and left it at that, had this lady on the other end of the phone not been so rude. At this point, I’m wanting to talk to the owner just to let her know how horribly I’d been treated. I doubt she’ll come forward. Any guesses why? Because I am fairly certain the horrid lady on the phone was her, the new owner. She hung up on me and was very degrading towards me. All because I was trying to get in contact with this woman I had spoke with in the past. Wake Up Call is a wake up call for the community. It’s a prime example of terrible ownership and is the gold standard for what NOT to be like. If you want to be a jerk, go to wake up call- where...
Read moreInteresting experience with Wake Up Call today.
All I can say is I am never ever going back here again. The new owner is a very pushy and passive aggressive person. I stayed most of the morning enjoying my ordered coffee and working from this cafe. I’m from the city, and like most big cities, you get a coffee, sit and work all day — as a courtesy get to use the cafe wifi. I left to grab a bite to eat, came back, and was just setting up to work again. Not even 20 seconds after I setup and sat down, did the new owner come up, and push me to get something.
Seems like she has never ran a coffee shop in a big city before. I was just setting up, tried being nice to say I’d order something in a bit, and the entire time I spoke, was given a demeaning and condescending look and tone.
I will not go back, and DO NOT recommend here. The new owner is incompetent, unwelcoming and will make you feel like she is above you. This could have became my daily workplace...
