Penney and I travel to best western Blackfoot, ID from vancouver, wa to see Penney's sick Mom. We checked in May 3rd, 2024. As we walked into room 200, there was a foul smell called front desk right away. We asked for spray to cut the smell -and opened window went to dinner. Came back still smell, tried to move rooms but all booked. Iris the front desk gal came to room agreed there's a smell proceed to say they did deep cleaning because there was a big family before us. Told us to speak to night gal at 11pm to 7am, we arrived at desk with rose. We shared the problem, her comment "what do you want me to do about it". Didn't say sorry nothing just cold harsh look. I could see Iris was afraid to come forward and share room did have a foul smell. Rose said I'll give you 10 off. Really I had to sleep in Idaho where the weather was freezing cold with window open all night. Woke up with headache. Called customer service support. Place a complaint ticket but shared I need to talk with management, spoke to Brenda basically she called me a liar, I asked to speak to someone that would hear my story. Brenda said she have general manager call me , nothing!!! So I tried call Brenda 4 times no answer. Left message to be called back. So I used my friend Penney's phone and guess what Brenda the manager answered hmmm that's interesting. I asked her why I haven't heard back from GM. Her response was he didn't feel necessary to call me. Just remember if you decide to stay here I hope you get treated better then I did. Brenda manager, rose night worker and Gm was unkind, not professional, unresponsive. Iris front desk gal treated us well but afraid to share the truth to upper management. Morning front desk gal ( forgot her name other then she had nice friendly smile long blonde hair) was very nice to say she was sorry we had to deal with smell and sleep all night with window open. And also shared night worker Rose can come across cold...
Read moreThis has been the worst experience ive had at a best western, on first walk in of the room I see the floor has not been vacuumed, theres gnats flying around the sink, and I had killed 3 mosquitos in just the first night. The door to the bathroom did not latch and the fan did not work so had to use cologne to try and mask the smell.. the beds were very hard and the pillows were tiny, and they put us in a room with elephants above us that would not stop stomping all night long. We were there for 4 nights and housekeeping came everyday but all they did was do the bathroom. They didnt change our sheets or clean anything else our whole stay. The shower was very warm which was nice and the pool/hottub was operational so that was another plus. The location was great and easy to get too and the lady at the desk was nice but when it came to asking for more towels I got sent on a goose chase to 3 different people, the 2nd person had an entire cart of towels and wouldn't let me take one! Told me I had to go find my housekeeper for my side of the hotel. A big hassle just for a towel. And with already paying a premium price for a very low quality experience that was the cherry on top. DO NOT come to this best western, take the 20 minute drive to pocatello and stay at the la Quinta. I payed $40 less a night for a room 2x the size, extremely clean, and after seeing the la quinta I HIGHLY REGRET going to best western in blackfoot. What a huge waste of...
Read moreIf you're needing somewhere to stay while in the area. This is a good stop. It's not an amazing hotel, it's older, but has been refurbished. It was clean, smelled clean and room was quiet. The bathroom in our room was pretty tight in space, and the a/c unit didn't really work, or just blew room temperature air. The night agent was awesome and very friendly, she helped me make our reservation over the phone and made checking in quick and painless, she had however forgotten to note our noon checkout. Our check out morning check out agent was pretty snippy. Came banging on our door after 11 a.m. because the note hadn't been put in that we requested a late check out, snarky comments had been made, and we rushed to get out of there because we didn't wanna have or deal with further problems with the employee. During check out comments were made as well. In my experience with working in customer service, and reviewing locations based on different criteria, this location was pretty balanced customer service wise, but was not impressed with morning staff. Overall price wise was pretty good for what you get. If you need a late check out verify that the agent adds it to your notes. Rooms are decent and nice for a smaller facility. Customer service was on the lower end, but night agent was...
