5 Spice Asian Takeout — Restaurant in Blaine

This place was really tasty! I was quite surprised. I bought Chicken Fried Rice, Spicy Hunan Beef, and Orange Chicken. This is about as good as American-Chinese food gets.

The Chicken Fried rice was great, and a favorite of my girlfriend who actually makes it often. I read someones review who said it didn't seem fried. That's totally wrong. It was a bit oily, but it's not yellow like you'd maybe expect. The chicken was cooked pieces of whole white meat, was quite tender and had a slight taste of maybe black pepper. It was delicious for us both.

My Spicy Hunan Beef was pretty much standard and what you'd expect. A lot of sauce on the bottom of the dish with thinly sliced pieces of beef, carrot, onion, and peppers. I still enjoyed the taste and it didn't leave me with a food hangover, so that was a major plus.

The Orange Chicken was what my girlfriend ordered, and as someone who usually doesn't like American-Chinese food, she was actually very pleased with it and said it was the best orange chicken...

5 Spice is our new favorite place for Asian take out! We just discovered it only in the last few weeks and are very happy with the quality of the food. The veggies, green & red pepper, broccoli, onion, are very fresh and full in all of the orders. The mushrooms are especially nice. The sauces and spice are very very flavorful. The veggie fried rice and egg roles were very good, some of the best we have ever had. Called tonight to place an order, was rudely informed to "come now because they were going to be closing." It was only 7:15 when I called and according to their menu, they are open til 8. My fiance was going to be picking up the food on his way home from someplace with his son, so I did not have control over this. They called me roughly 20 minutes later to tell me they were closing and the food hadn't been picked up yet. I tried to get ahold of my fiance without avail so I called them back and said forget it. They have lost what could have been very frequent customers because they felt like closing early. You win some, you lose...
