This is normally our go to spot for Dennys. We live right by one in Brooklyn Center but choose to drive to Blaine instead. Today there were many issues. First they had a limited Holiday menu, which isn't advertised. But we were ok with that as we generally get the same meals every time we go; my Husband the lumberjack slam, me the moons over my hammy, and chicken tenders to share. First the tenders come out and they are a dark brown, clearly over done and one was missing breading on one side which showed that it was clearly freezer burned (which the waitress said that it just looks like that because of the no breading. But it was clearly tough, inedible and just gross). She asked if we wanted new ones and I hesitated but my Husband agreed as long as they were cooked better. We were very hungry. The new ones came out, not as brown but really just inedible. We stomached down 3 of the out of 5 because our stomachs were growling and brought the other 2 home for our dog.
The meals came and the first thing I noticed is that the hashbrowns looked like they were the leftover hashbrowns that got moved to the side and over done. Not the normal golden brown rectangle that you normally get. Every bite tasted burnt. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure the cook used every last ounce of fake butter on those and the rest of our meal. My bread for my breakfast sandwich was bright yellow, not toasted, and my hands were glistening and dripping with grease. I only ate half of it. My husbands over easy eggs were the same. Overall, it was very disappointing and a waste of money. We had a $50 check for 2 people and nothing was good. I know it's the holiday season and all but if you cannot adequately staff and have an adequate cook on the clock, just don't open.
Again, this is our go to Dennys. We drive out of our way to go there instead since we have had bad experience with the one closer to home (raw eggs, huge piece of plastic on a cheeseburger, etc). We did not order difficult meals. We were not that difficult besides telling the waitress about the freezer burned chicken. We didn't complain about our actual meals because I don't think they would be able to do anything about it. I just hope they will do alot better in the future because at this point it will be pretty difficult for me to convince my Husband to go back there anytime soon and that's pretty bad considering we both liked going there. Again, I promise, we are not difficult people to please with our food. Just cook the food the way...
Read moreFirst the wait time was long but that was not the problem. First, I noticed they had the menus at the door in a dirt pile and when people are done, they just add it to the top of the pile. So nasty and filled with germs. Secondly it was me and my sons first time ever at a Dennys because we usually are iHop people. I needed more time to look at the menu because I don't eat pork or cheese, so I was trying to substitute a few items. My waiter kept coming over to see if I was ready not to help me figure out the items. She was tapping her feet, and I felt rushed to make a choice. I said eggs with no cheese and yet I had to switch eggs with my son because mine came it cheese. The sausage was pork which I didn't complain I just sat them to the side, but the smell was bothering me, so I asked her to remove them from my table. Now I know pork from turkey so good thing I didn't bite in it. Next, I asked for wheat toast over white toast, but no one gave me toast. I asked her for it, and she said it will be right out. I finished my meal and there was still no toast. I got my bill and there was still no toast. I went to pay and mentioned my missing toast the waiter comes over and said I can get that to go... like wtf will I have toast to go... what am i going to eat it with??? Just the whole vibe was rushed, and I didn't fill comfortable how they talked to the older people. One lady was in a wheelchair, and it was obvious she was hard at hearing and a waiter yelled at her to follow her to the table. My son was son confused and upset about this. Like wow I've never been to a place so nasty and rude. I leave reviews and visit places regularly with my sons. This made me sad, and I said sorry to my sons for even bringing them there. This place needs to be...
Read moreMy family and I eat at alot of Denny's around the US because we usually get GREAT food and service at a good price plus we are AARP members so we get a discount. This Denny's was horrible!! It was 1pm on a Sunday and not super busy but the hostess practically threw our menus down on the table and ran off without saying anything about a waitress or drinks. Our waitress very obviously wanted to be anywhere but there. My son and husband ordered pancakes and only one order came with our food and it took about 10 minutes to get the second ones. Then my sons fruit cup had a giant blonde hair in it wrapped around a piece of fruit. My husband asked for a new bowl but the waitress came back with a to go bowl for the hairy stuff and when he again asked for new fruit (which we had actually paid extra for BTW) she asked why in a very rude tone. He again said because it had hair in it and she said "oh really? I thought you were kidding!" Why would we kid about hairy fruit? The last straw was when I went to pay. Our new AARP cards hadn't come in the mail yet so I pulled up my card on my phone which I have done many times before when I lost my card for a bit and the cashier said she could't take that. I told her i had done it from my phone before and she just walked into the back. She finally came back with a man I assume was the manager who was also very rude. He also said they couldn't take it off my phone and i said it looks just the same as my card and he said "I guarantee it doesn't!!" At that point I just wanted out of there so I wasn't going to press the point but will never go to that...
