I have been a loyal customer for over 40years. I started going to Hongs back in the 70’s , when they were located in the Park Forest Plaza .They were my go to place for Chinese food, providing good food at a great price. One of their best items was fried rice, offered in two sizes, small and large. They have recently changed their portion sizes and added extra large to the menu for fried rice ( only). . What use to be the large is now called extra large for twice the price. The small size is now called large, and the small size is really tiny like one cup. I understand that inflation has caused a change in prices and portions. If you look on the menu for their website, you still see only two sizes listed small and large. I am disappointed that the management insists that sizes and portions are the same as they have always been . Anyone who has been a customer for a year or more knows that this isn’t true . This makes me feel that they do not value their customers . Why can’t they just say that due to inflation, and supply and demand are prices have increased. Don’t make up a story saying this is the way it’s...
Read moreThe woman at the register was EXTREMELY rude, even on the phone. I called to place an order for pick up and she had me holding for a while and then when she came back to the phone, she was very short and condescending. She asked me if I knew where they were located and I said yes and she quizzed me and told me to tell her where to prove I knew where they were located. When I went to pick up I was waiting for 5 minutes to even just be acknowledged and then the lady comes asks me for my phone number and prints the receipt and just puts it on the counter in front of me without any explanation. She walked away then came back and asked for my card. She got the order WRONG and charged my card as I was asking her. She caught a bigger attitude and proceeded to argue with me And when I proved she was wrong she kept rolling her eyes. I requested a full refund and she got even ruder if that was possible. Previously the food tasted burnt but we decided to Give it a try again but never again. This place will NEVER get my...
Read moreIt saddens me to post this negative review. I don’t think that they go out of their way to sell food that is not tasty, prepared like the photo’s on the wall. But when I spent $47 and the chicken wings still had feathers and burnt, the intentional, when the fried rice has more soy sauce then actually being fried, that’s a person who can’t cook, when the gravy of the shrimp egg foo young’s looks old and dark that’s an establishment saving left over foods, when you can small the shrimp from the dishes and it leaves a fishy after taste, that’s food not being stored properly and expired food being sold. I expected to have a nice dinner, I just tossed $47 to the wind. Never again I patronized this establishment from the first day their doors opened. They need to hire better cooks, storage of the food has to be better, OR they need to close their doors before they cause someone a...
