HORRIBLE!!! We can blame the egg dilemma to a point, but the breakfast I had today was DEPLORABLE! Had a taste for a gyros omelet, of which up till NOW was most gratifying...and because they are the only ones in the area who offer it. THIS particular offering today however, was ATROCIOUS! An omelet (when made properly) should be firm and bright yellow in appearance...this was NOT! This omelet was PALE yellow and RUNNY. That's right, RUNNY. Why was it runny??? My thinking is... A) It used one less egg and made up for it by combining real eggs with egg substitute. B) Used one less egg and added more milk C) All of the above. Taste was not up to par BY ANY MEANS! Then on top of this they compensate by making more than half the plate hash browns, so it APPEARS you have a full plate of food! Then too the hash browns were clumpy (I imagine from sitting around because they were made ahead of time) AND they were cool to the taste. In fact NOTHING served was actually HOT. And what's the deal with this??? You order an omelet and you get either toast or pancakes with it. That's fine, EXCEPT when it gets served to you, you get your omelet in one plate and your pancakes in the other plate. WHY can't you serve pancakes first and hold the egg order UNTIL you actually SERVE the pancakes??? This way, both dishes would be served (in theory, but not here at Raspberry's in actuality) HOT! Instead your omelet and hash browns are getting even COLDER waiting on the side till you can wolf down the pancakes! This meal aside from drinks was $15.00!!! I had 2 glasses of milk at $2.75 each for a beverage total of $5.50! I went to my local supermarket afterwards and got 2 GALLONS of milk for $5.00! You do the math! Let me say that up until now I was a regular here for many years and many management/ownership changes. I also realize drinks are higher, we have an egg issue, etc... But I would rather you raised the egg menu item a dollar more (or whatever is reasonable) to keep the same quality as expected, then to smack the face of a regular who WANTED (but no more) to keep supporting this local business. So with tip included, this terrible experience cost me $27.00!!! P.S. They haven't had a change in soups since previous owners years ago now. What's with that?? It's no wonder this place is so vacant these days. You can't blame Trump's economy or Egg-bird flu...
Read moreWe drove 30 minutes in sleet to go to breakfast for what would have been the first time eating at a restaurant in months (2020). We pulled up and as we parked my son said from the backseat “Oops. I forgot my shoes.” Needless to say we ended up having to order online. We waited another 20 minutes to pick up the food and we were both starving and impatient. Food was ready when we pulled up and it was an easy process. We decided to drive to a park to eat and realized we didn’t get any forks with our five orders of pancakes. It was disappointing. BUT, the food was not. It’s hard to judge a restaurant based on take out, but even after driving for a few minutes following the pickup and digging in with our fingers (also no napkins in the bags) we were happy to enjoy a good meal. Fortunately we found a spork in the car (a new one) and so my husband was able to enjoy the country fried steak he got. He said the gravy was good. He’s picky, so, thumbs up! I had the Bacado and loved the flavor. I was worried about soggy tomatoes, but didn’t have that problem. I got grits as a side — delicious! I only added butter, the flavor was simple and cozy. I didn’t try the French toast that one of my kids had but he scarfed it down and it looked really tasty. We’ll be back for more. Hopefully it’ll be a more civilized experience for us next time. 😉
Side note: The work restaurants put into go orders is incredible. We appreciated the wrapped syrup and felt bad for ordering whip cream on the pancakes after seeing how it had to be packed separate from the pancake order. We appreciate this effort. We’re sorry for the added cost and time this takes. The to go packing was excellent and we recognize that this impacted the quality of our...
Read moreFantastic food and great service. We moved to WI many years ago, and we always stop by here for breakfast when we come to visit. The stuffed French toast is out of this world. The hash brown are nice and crisp, not burned and not soggy. We always take a quart of the lemon rice soup to go. My fiance had biscuits and gravy, with all the fixings. He said everything tasted great, but the biscuits weren't as big as he would have liked. Only complaint tho. I still have to give them 5 starts. The waitresses and hosts are always so nice to us. The wait can be a little long sometimes, but we just went this past Sunday at 1130a (prob before church let out), and our table of 7 was sat within 10 min. Our waitress was Isabella and she had everything spot on, and fast. And my mother waited til the last minute to mention we wanted split checks, but she was more than accommodating for us. We gave her a $20 tip for the 7 of us, should've even given more. I can't recommend...
