Finally ate at the Havana restaurant in Bloomfield. I've been dodging this place since it opened just because of lack of parking most of the time. I had a cuban sandwich with a double cortado and I wasn't to disappointed with my order. My only complaint is that the Cuban sandwich had way more ham than expected and not much pork to it. It also had way to much mustard to the point that it was visible from outside the sandwhich. I love the food presentation and service but I just don't like to taste to much ham & mustard overpowering everything else in my cuban. I could barely taste the pork and maybe by adding a little mojo to it while cutting back on the other condiments will make it much tastier next time. It was still a good sandwich though but just needs a little work. Loved the cortado , it was very good. I gave them 5 stars because I believe this place has potential and their prepared food looks really good. I will go back again to try their prepared foods and be hopeful because every restaurant deserves the benefit of the...
Read moreDissatified!! Ordered through Uber Eats, first the price is ridiculous. $2.50 for a mini empanada that wasn't even fresh and cold, the outside shell was rubbery. Ordered the Ropa Vieja with white rice, beans and maduros...$15.95 the taste was just okay but the maduros were so hard and stale, the beans also taste like they had burned in the pot. The food was also room temperature. If you are going to charge high prices for this basic food at least have it freshly made not hours before sitting under a lamp. I get that these type of places have buffet style so the rice and meats are made early but something like empandas and maduros etc needs to be made/fried at the time of the order. Definitely not worth the money. This was a big waste. I won't order from Havana...
Read moreI'm sorry but I must be brutally honest with everyone. I ordered picadillo and to my knowledge, I don't know what type of picadillo was that, but, I know what a true and delicious picadillo is. I'm just giving constructive criticism here. But that picadillo last night is no where near what a real tasty picadillo should taste like. The service was OK. Nice people and beautiful atmosphere and beautiful restaurant. This restaurant gives me the impression that is Dominican. Why? The setting. The setting of the food, the display, reminds me of Dominican restaurants who do the same thing. I have been to many cuban restaurants all the way to Saint Peterburgs and Hialeah and never saw their food on display for everyone to see. Again, that picadillo was strange. I'm...
