The place is very clean and the staff is friendly. I came in a week n some change before their "grand opening". I placed my order online and went to pick it up.
I was not greeted but the gentlemen who ended up helping me that was on the line, was nice.
The manager seemed to be heavily focus on, Idk if they were family or influencers. They were older looking of south Asian decent. He not once spoke to me or two other patrons that were dining in. But he was sure to be heavily invested in the table next to me.
I ordered their lamb platter and "smoked" wings and both the dishes, in my opinion, were NOT good. Even though I ordered it online, I opted to eat at the location since it wasn't that busy.
The lamb/combo platter: the food was cold. I was there when they were prepping and it looked like is that the meats were on a warmer. But when I got my food and sat down to eat, it was cold. Their signature "smoked wings" were not smoked at all. I did not like them and was very disappointed. I took one bite and could not finish the rest. It tasted like boiled wings with some sauce on it. There was nothing smoky about it. I've had my share of wings and I couldn't believe I could not even finish one whole wing. It did not taste good.
If I remeber correctly, it came with 8 wings I threw the rest away (7.5 wings) and left the business.
I would give them another shot after (or if) they change a little bit of things. But as of now, the local gyro spots that been in Bloomfield...
Read moreAs a lifelong resident of Bloomfield, food in the Southside can be very hit or miss. There has been countless times I have been sitting in my living room starving with zero desire to go anywhere local.
For years I have been looking for a go-to spot and I can say with confidence that I found it.
Mo’ Platters is just off Bloomfield Avenue and an incredible addition to the Southside culinary options. Walking in for the first time I felt like I was in Montclair, not a block away from my house. It is a beautiful restaurant. The portions are friendly, the food is delicious, and the price is unbeatable. Please tell me where you can get a rice and chicken platter for $9. Yes, $9!!! That alone makes Mo’ Platters worth trying. You will not be hungry after dining here, and you’ll be very satisfied with your meal.
Food talk aside, my favorite part about this establishment is the staff. They are so incredibly friendly and welcoming. They always have a smile on their face and accommodate any need you may have. You can tell they appreciate your business and are grateful you are giving them a shot. This is a new business, please be patient with them.
In the last week I’ve been to Mo’ Platters 4 times. I have spread the love to my family who have also gone. This is a business worth supporting and I will continue to do so.
Please give them a chance, you will not regret it.

Read moreI literally wasn’t going to post this. I went here twice on my first visit the service was great, except for when I asked specifically for them to not put cheese on my hamburger I asked for a hamburger with everything but you know what they did. They put cheese on it and then attempted to scrape it off not cool day to the only reason I went here initially is because my daughter loves bubble tea so I took her there to get it and the day prior I ordered food and the bubble tea from the same register. Second day lazy employee didn’t want to take one order wanted me to be charged twice to place an order at one register when both registers work for both sides of the store simple. orders, which was only french fries and a bubble tea. How hard was that when previously the day prior we spent enough money where we bought two meals two drinks, and they took the order from one register now for some strange reason this employee who worked here didn’t want to take the order which upset me greatly. This is my two...
