The Honey Baked Ham Company — Restaurant in Bloomingdale

The first time I went, I loved it. The second time, it was a disaster. I went in to get a sandwich and was treated so rudely by the staff, as if I was a bother to them. When I walked in the door, a lady started harassing me by getting in my face and asking me all sorts of questions about my order. When I told her I didn't place an order, she continued bothering me by insisting I have a free sample and I had to say no several times. The menu board for the sandwiches was missing. When I asked what happened to it, they told me that they were only serving pre-made sandwiches from their fridge. I found the one I wanted and paid for it. When I went to have a seat, that's when the trouble began. They had taken out all of the tables and chairs, even the stools at the front counter at the window. When I asked for a place to sit, the woman behind the counter argued with me. Basically, they didn't want anyone sitting down. They said that because it was the holiday season, they didn't want any customers sitting in the restaurant. I told them that I was there a week ago when it was still the holiday season and there was a spot to sit then. They had roped off an area for people to stand in line to pick up their orders. There wasn't a single customer in the store except me and they were telling me to leave. It wasn't until after I started complaining that they finally offered to get a stool for me. I told them forget it, I'm just going to sit in my car. They should have brought one out when I was obviously looking for a spot to eat the food I had just bought. Very disrespectful to argue with a customer. They could have easily left a few stools out for someone to sit down. The food is very good, but I won't be back for a long time after that episode. Paying customers deserve to have a chance to sit down and not be challenged when they ask for a seat. Terrible service, they are rude and like to argue...

HBH is the place to go for family events or a little romantic evening for two without worrying about all the fus. My first time in the store. Went to get a quick ham sandwich. I’m so glad I did! The gentleman at the counter was very polite and pleasant and took no time at all to make my classic ham on a croissant! Lots of thick slices of delicious ham, I ordered with mayo lettuce and tomato.
