Cilantro Taco Grill - Bloomingdale — Restaurant in Bloomingdale

The place is very clean, head to toe. and staff is very friendly, but the food is very bland and not fresh. The tacos were bland and not very warm. The refried beans and the rice both had somewhat of a fermented aftertaste, almost plasticy/chemical like aftertaste which definitely wasn’t right. the Horchata alright, but not the best by any means. The cilantro that was my steak taco dinner was not very fresh, and lacked any of that fragrant aroma that you get with fresh cilantro. The hot sauce was not hot at all, and the mild actually had no kick whatsoever. Nevertheless I somehow got very bloated from this food, which wasn’t normal for me. It got to the point where I was having chest pains, hazy vision and almost passed out, at which point I had to have my friend call 911 for me. The ER visit wasn’t too long. WALKED in, one guy in front of me talking to cashier. AND the Owners' husband/Mgr/Cook gets up from his meal and asks the GUY in front of me if HE needs help, asks me nothing. I then attempted to order plant based tacos; they don't sell them. Then, Based on deliciousness of OTHER CILANTRO LOCALS,, I went with the FISH tacos; ordered 8, ate 2. SEASONLESS! Called, expressed dissatisfaction, was told basically, and I summarize, "Go to #=!!" & "The Manger is REALLY UPSET" and IF I were to return tacos I would be asked to "never come back". Wow!! Really?! I recently tried the veggie burrito bowl from Cilantro, and I have to say it was a huge disappointment. The bowl was bland, lacking any real flavor or seasoning. There were no sautéed vegetables on the veggie bowl just lettuce and tomatoes, and the portion size was way too small for the price. The rice was dry, and the beans tasted like they came straight from a can. Overall, it felt like no care went into making the dish, and it left me unsatisfied and frustrated.
