Update 10/2024:
My husband and I have eaten both carry-out and inside on more than one occasion since my last update and our experience has so much better. I wanted to be sure and update my review and rating. I would recommend eating here. We get the hibachi when we go. We don't eat in the hibachi side since it's just the two of us. But the hibachi still comes out hot and fresh. The staff is friendly and the service has been great. The portions are good sized, enough that we end up bringing home leftovers. So glad we didn't write this place off completely.
Update 9/6/18: My husband and I decided to give Domo another try as we really enjoyed their food prior to the poor experience in February 2018. To update, our experience was better ordering on the phone. They do have a block on their line that prohibits calls from private/blocked callers, so I had to unblock my number and call in. The call did go to their answering machine and I hung up. I was ready to forget it at this point, but to my surprise my phone rang and it was Domo saying they missed my call. I placed my order and we picked up our food.
The food was very good and we plan to return.
I wanted to update my review as the experience was better.
February 2018 Have ordered take out from here in the past without issue but it had been a long time. Tried to order over the phone about a week ago and the first 3 calls I made I got their answering machine. Finally on the last call in someone picked up, a female, and said something very quickly to me before hanging up on me. All I could understand was something about her being busy, to leave her alone and not to call back. Now to be honest I think that conversation was directed at someone else as I don't think I was who she thought I was or at least I hope not. My number shows up private on caller ID so I am assuming she has been having problems with someone and thought I was that person. However, it does not change my review or opinion of my experience. I was unable to order food as a result. I was blown away by her attitude. I understand people have problems in their lives but I called a listed number on Domo's Facebook page to reach the restaurant and that is the treatment I get. My husband and I really wanted to order hibachi. I guess we will be ordering from somewhere else too in the future. Sorry Domo, but whoever you had working February 24th cost you...
Read moreThese people were SO RUDE!! I will never come here again. We arrived and were told we “had to hurry and they needed our order in NOW because they had a reservation coming in.” We were rushed and they didn’t even give us a moment to peruse the menu. We were trying to order a sushi appetizer and told we could not do that because we had to get our hibachi order in NOW because of the reserved party and our sushi order could be put in “whenever.” We almost left when they wouldn’t even give us adequate time to look at the menu. Then the food was pretty horrible. I ordered the fillet mignon and it was so over cooked I could barely chew it- I had asked for it to be medium. I will never come here again. If you want some good hibachi, travel an hour to Terre Haute. The sushi was OK. Not great. The inside was terrible. If atmosphere is important to you, don’t come here it’s...
Read moreI used to come here a lot; great atmosphere, well lit, lively staff, high quality food and prices that made sense.
Today I came in for a to go order. I got two meals. I paid nearly $80 dollars for two meals. When I brought it home, the food was wrapped in foil, the meat was overcooked and tinged with a metal taste, the rice was dry and the noodles were barely passable. The building itself was dark and kind of creepy; there was no one at the front desk at first and they had to be called out by the man at the sushi bar. It was empty and their main sign was laying on the ground outside. I sat in a dimly lit booth with a menu that had price hikes added on with little paper cut-outs.
I promised my wife her favorite Hibachi. I got it. She's disappointed. I'm furious.
Overpriced. Poor Quality. Poor...
