Dop's Jerk House — Restaurant in Bloomington

Pow! Boom! This is it! Now we all know what Batman must eat to annihilate all the villains. It's OUT! This is some incredibly delicious food. Talk about seasoned to perfection, melt in your mouth and so homemade; there must be a spoon still in it somewhere; waiting to be discovered. I had the hard task of tasting both the brown gravy chicken and the curry chicken, in an attempt to decide which one to order. Both were very flavorful, the flavors were distinct for each of them but both equally good. Real home cooking cannot be duplicated, there's no trick that can replace hours of slow heat and proper execution. Pouring stuff together doesn't make you a Chef, other places consolidate service jobs and depending on where their employees are standing that day, they may be today's chef. Sad, but true. This food is wonderfully prepared, that takes time and effort. Hat's off! Go, in and meet Meka, tell her Jen sent you, because she's the "best" at what she does, samples will convince you by themselves but don't say I didn't tell you, first! I hate to have to rate this restaurant a 2 because the food is great and the customer service is too, but I just called to try to place an order over the phone and was told to hold which is understandable. I waited patiently, however was then hung up on after about 10mins which was obviously intentional because when I called back immediately after that the worker said it’s busy and she has a lot of orders and door dashes to take care of. Okay, I get that but you could have let me know that when I first called instead of having me put on hold just to hang up in my face then I would have been more understanding. I understand it might be busy but be upfront with customers that try to call in instead of hanging up the phone after having them on hold after so many minutes. That was extremely unprofessional and just because I’m calling in an order doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be treated fairly as a customer like everyone else who walks in because at the end of the day, the day still has to end and I still have to pay!
