My husband and I enjoy eating in the Bloomington O'charley's. Not only is the food consistently good but you can get seated in the restaurant and hear each other when you are having a conversation. We have never had to wait to be seated. We have driven from other restaurants nearby where we could barely find a place to park and were unable to get seated without a wait. Don't get me wrong, this is not a negative review for those restaurants, just a very positive one for O'charley's. Our service has always been great, of course like all restaurants you will have servers who stand out and dishes that are better than others and this place is no different. Our most recent visit prompted this review. The restaurant was busier than usual, however no wait and seated immediately. Our server was busy. My husband and I had to wait for our main course for quite a while. We both ordered honey drizzled southern fried chicken. Recommend it. Our server apologized more than once for how long it was taking and offered to give us a free dessert. We explained that we had a coupon for a free slice of pie so we would just use that and understood she was busy. The food came a little later she apologized again and we enjoyed our meal. The manager came by and apologized. We were impressed with the level of sincerity. I jokingly told my husband I felt like I had waited in fast food drive thru's longer. Lol. After our meal, we ordered our slice of pie to go and was very surprised when our server brought out two at no charge. Read moreI will never return to this location in Bloomington, Indiana. We ordered our meals. The waiter told us a price on an item. When we received the bill it was $9.00 more. When we spoke to the manager, he would not honor the price the waiter told us. It was also on the menu as the same price we were told. . The waiter was very nice and apologetic. The manager was extremely rude. He is definitely in the wrong business. His customer service skills were way below average to say the least. This was a very bad experience. I asked for the Operations manager’s number and he gave me all of his Information. When I called the number he provided, the man that answered said he hasn’t worked for O’Charleys in a while. I apologized and went back into the restaurant and asked for the same manager. He came to the front and I told him that he gave me the wrong information. He was rude and told me that the man I called was the operations manager that he reported to everyday! I said are you sure? He said yes! I report to him daily. I said just a minute. I called the man that I had just spoke with. I put the phone on speaker. The man told the manager that he hadn’t worked for O’Charleys for a while now. I thanked him and dismissed the call. We've eaten there before, it's been a while, a couple of years, but it .was not worth spending our time and money going there. We ordered quite a few appetizers. The potato skins were overcooked and not very big. The avocado artichoke dip had a ton of chips and not very much dip. Look nothing like it did in the picture in the menu. It should have been double the size of what we and not what he was expecting. Again, actually got. The shrimp and crab was good, but very skimpy the picture in the menu looked double in size as far as quantity. We have four people in our party. Her son's steak and chicken dinner was very good he said. My husband's pork chops were very thin and not what he was expecting. Again, the picture was very misleading. My bacon cheeseburger had no bacon, which the waitress brought me some bacon, but I ordered the one with the fried cheese on it, and it did not taste good. The manager gave us a discount of some sort, but he should have just given us a total refund on that sandwich. The waitress was terrific. She was the best part of the whole meal.
