Terrible experience... how do you want to be treated? I have been to this Pizza Ranch maybe 6 or 7 times in the last 2 months and had a good experience. Today was totally different all because of your management. This is what happened...I was on my 30 minute lunch break and have been frequenting Pizza Ranch for lunch. I think there chicken is great and the reason I go there is because I don't have to wait for it. When I went today they had a total of 8 pieces of chicken 6 breast and 1 wing and 1 thigh. I don't like the breast so I ate the wing and thigh. I then asked a couple of workers if they were bring out more chicken. One of the ladies told me it would be 10 minutes. That will make me 20 minutes into my lunch. I saw a woman who appeared to be a manager and I said there is no chicken out but breast and she told me well we are not out of chicken and we can't gauge how much chicken to cook. She then said it would be a few minutes. I waited for the chicken to come out by the counter. The manager brought it out and said here is your fresh hot chicken and I hope you have a better day. I said I would have had a better day if the chicken was already out. The manager then said "What did you say?" She was trying to intimidate me. I said I would have had a better day if the chicken had been out. This manager said I was harassing her. Now not ONE time did she apologize for the chicken not being on the counter. I told her that I have been at that particular Pizza Range several times and had never had a problem before. She said "I doubt that". I told her I was going to report her to the corporate office and she said fine I know all of them. I then asked her for her name and she said " I'm not giving you my name" and asked me my name and I told her then she said her name was Selina. She then snatched the chicken I had on a plate and told me to get out of her store that she was calling the police. I guess I committed a crime by asking where the chicken was. I told her I want my money back. She went to the register and gave me a $20 bill. I told her I did not pay $20 for the meal I only paid $11 and some change. I don't think she could figure that out how much to give me. So she then went on her cell phone and call 911 and said I would not leave the property. I told her wait I had to write her name down and then I left the property. If I was not working I would have stayed and talked to the police. I was amazed that a company could a manager on there team treating a customer like that. That is a bad reflection on their company. I used no profanity nor did I yell and scream at her. This managed worked on 5/19/2018 and I was there from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Is it protocol to snatch a plate from a customer. If you don't think I'm telling the truth I'm sure you have some in house video that you can watch to see what happened. I'm now reaching out to the district manager of this facility. Is this how you treat customers who ask for food on...
Read moreI love pizza ranch. Good food and it's so easy to take my kids here so they get a variety of choices and flavors. There's always food ready so no long waiting.
Having said that, we get to order our own pizza. It's takes about ten or fifteen minutes but worth the wait. The chicken is real good. The added benefit here is that they a nicely socked salad bar. Makes me feel less guilty about eating pizza.
They also once approached me if I was a minister. Told them no but that I had one. They gave me a card that I presented before the church that gave him and one other person free buffets once a day when they visit. This was to acknowledge their belief in ministry work and spreading God's love. Very cool!!!
The only two things I dislike... The first is that they no longer dip my chicken in bbq sauce or buffalo sauce. They told me I could take the packages and pour it on my own. They did this for a long time for me. And technically, yes, the packets met the need. But no one likes having something taken away from them and that's how o feel about the service. The only chicken they dip is a sesame or teriyaki sauce, which seems out of place and i don't enjoy.
The other thing I dislike is that they've raised their prices on its meal twice this year. It used to be more affordable to take my kids but now the price reaches north of $30. Before it was north of $20.
Also, I forgot, watch out for the kids eat free nights. It's only with a purchasing adult buffet. Twice I've gotten burned by this and each time I checked the advertising for the wording and it's not there. I found out when I went to pay, expecting just my total but they tell me it's only one kid. I can understand that but had I known that I wouldn't have promised my kids I'd take them to pizza ranch.
Overall I still love this place and used to give it a 5-star rating. Due to price changes and poor or rather false marketing, the place has some def challenges. But I want it to get better...
Read moreI went to Pizza Ranch in Bloomington IL for lunch 11:50pm on a Friday. The food was bland with no seasoning. Pizza was what seemed not cooked thoroughly on crust and was same for dessert pizza and biscuits, bread sticks. The mashed potatoes runny not thick as they should be. The fried chicken(which I had heard was delicious) was very greasy inside as well as outside, barely seasoned at all. Also chicken was cooked in old grease that was about to break. The salad bar was very good. The interior was pleasant but everything I touched on salad bar was wet so I had to go dry hands to finish with making plate of salad, dressings and macaroni salad. I was fed up with that so that's all I chose from salad bar but food was good and tasty there. The salt & pepper shakers were greasy and sticky along with the chairs as I pulled myself up to table from seat. There were few inside, customers were seniors and one family traveling and two men middle aged. Staff was pleasant and courteous. Building inside and out was clean and well kept. When this restaurant opened up it was at seating capacity and lines out door to get in to eat, and this was every day. For long time until was closed for covid restrictions. Since opening up very few people seem to be going there. Perhaps they're experiencing same as I had idk. This was my first time eating there but I won't be going back. I was not impressed at all. Very disappointing. I hope at other restaurants of Pizza Ranch are doing better. Oh and all the food bars very small, not would be expecting from a buffet. There were 4, one was hot food, 2and was pizza n bread sticks, 3rd was salad, 4th was dessert pizza. There was no pasta, and the ice cream machine was out of order. Soft drinks and coffee and ice tea were included with price of (with tax) for 2...
