I trully wanted to love this restaurant, decoration detail is amazing, restaurant inside is beautiful been that said this restaurant is totally lacking from the most important things "food quality" and "food service". I have been there 5 times, my 4th time I was there with my family around Christmas the environment was very inviting, but food and service was far from good. Number one the waitress took the order and almost one hour later saw her again with the food and us empty water cups no one offer water the whole time we were there. My husband's spaghetti and meat balls were cold, my son's plate they forgot to put lettuce and tomatoes on his hamburger, myself I have gluten intolerance when I ask the waitress about food intolerance she said " I think this doesnt have gluten". This restaurant is not for food intolerance people like me. My son got up and talked to the manager, he never came back to our table to apologized, but he told the waitress to give us a $15.00 discount. The previous times I have been there also I have had problems with the food I have ordered, like one time the salad looked like it came from a bag that have expires a few days ago also waitress seems impatient and rude I said rude because she pointed her finger at my face and told me "quiet" when I ask for food that didn't have gluten ( I am assuming she has never heard gluten intolerance before and maybe I was going to fast for her)
I will extend a suggestion to the owners. The restaurant is beautiful location is great, but please work on a better quality food and service train your employees for a more polite service and have a menu for people with food intolerance like myself. I also want to mention after the 4th time I was there I promised myself not to go back again but I got a $50.00 gift card from a friend so there I go again I thought maybe the Christmas time was overwhelming for a new restaurant so I gave them one more try at lunch time, but unfortunately the service was poor again, food was cold and salad looked old. I won't be visiting Rob and Dob's again any time soon, hope with experience and time this restaurant improves the food and service. I you have any food intolerance or will like to experience excellent food and service I suggest " Bakery...
Read moreThe best I can say to start with is, it's just ok. The food was just ok, but was -WAY OVER-PRICED- for "just ok". The service was just ok. The place: The appearance and atmosphere of this place is very nice; looks nice on the outside and the ambience and decor inside are very nice. The service: We met some friends for dinner and had made reservations in advance. We were seated promptly and the other couple arrived approx 15min late. In the time we waited, the wait to get water and to have a drink order taken seemed too long. The wait to have our food order taken was longer than expected, but our waiter was very good with reviewing signature entrees and helping with deciding on what would fit our taste. During the meal, our waiter checked on us once early after food arrived, which was fine, but then didn't really check again to refresh drinks. The food: In my opinion, prices are WAY too high for the portions and quality. The food falls short in taste. I ordered the fish and chips ($23). The entree was 3 pieces of fried fish and 4-5 potato wedges. The fish was cooked well and had a decent taste, but the tartar sauce seemed to have a very strong citrus/sour taste and the wedges were dry. I can't speak to the other dishes other than to say that they were reported to be "ok" or "decent". The cost: For 1 appetizer, 2 drinks (1 draft beer and 1 glass of Port), and 2 entrees, the bill was just shy of $90 (not including tip). In my opinion, this was -WAY- too much for the quality and portion of food and drink. Overall, our experience was just mediocre. It feels like Rob Dob's wants to be in the category of very elite or an upscale dining experience, but it just falls short. If aiming for upscale is not the intent, then management should give careful consideration to evaluating, or re-evaluating, menu prices vs portion and the quality of what is being served. There are LOTS of sit-down dining options in the immediate area, some that I would say have better food, for notably less cost. All that said, we had never been here before, I can say we tried it, and I'm glad we did, but we won't...
Read moreThe server that I had was named Amber, the service we got was terrible. My girlfriend got a tea and when she got it asked for a sweetener packet and we didn’t recieve it until we asked a neighboring waitress after about 20 minutes of waiting. I had ordered the crab cake as an appetizer and didn’t receive it until AFTER my entre. Amber stated that the kitchen had burnt the first one but when I received mine it was cold which leaves me to believe that she had just forgotten about it. I had ordered the surf n turf with a loaded baked potato on the side, the loaded potato was presented poorly, had bacon bits scattered all around it as well as they did not add the chives it was supposed to have. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was slightly over cooked but Amber did not check in on us until I was about 3/4 of the way done with it so I wasn’t going to have them make me a new one at that point. For dessert I had gotten a crème brûlée which tasted good but I had asked for the check at the same time as placing the order for the dessert so we could leave right after I was finished but the only thing Amber did quickly tonight was bring the check back and tell us to have a great night, I mentioned to her that I had not received my dessert yet and she put on a cheesy shocked face and proceeded to ask us if we were sure no one else brought it to us. As our waiter why would you assume someone else brought us our dessert? The prices absolutely do not reflect the food quality and the wait service was terrible. We got more help from a neighboring waitress who saw a lack of assistance. Mid food and terrible service. Would...
