Serendipity Martini Bar — Restaurant in Bloomington

Had an awful experience here when I was there for a private event. Staff is unrelentingly difficult to deal with and RACIST! Staff/bouncers made extremely racist comments to me and my friends and had to be controlled by other staff members! I’ve also seen and experienced the staff manhandling both men and WOMEN! I myself was unreasonably asked to leave after asking “what the issue was?” when moving into the dance floor. They did not answer my question nor did they give me and my friends any sort of logical reason for the erratic/surprising behavior. I’ve been to Serendipity 2 other instances and had similar experiences (will not be going there again)! Please do yourself a favor and think twice before hosting/attending events...

I'd been trying to get in touch with Serendipity for several days to make a reservation for this evening, but never got a call back for the messages I'd left. I finally reached someone, told them we wanted to reserve a table for twelve at 9:30 tonight, and was told "that wouldn't be any problem."

I arrived at 9:25 pm to find the door locked. I finally got someone to come downstairs and open the door for me. He said "We decided to close early." I reminded him that I'd called to make a reservation, and that I had gone to considerable effort to do so. He shrugged and walked away.

Seems classy but there were fruit flies in my old fashioned first of all. Second of all, the bartender told me his card reader was broken so he could only accept cash, which wS a lie because I saw at least five open tabs on cards and he was accepting cards from other customers. This is the second time I've gone and both times the live music was awful and at first I contributed it to being just a terrible band but the second time I know the group is quite good as I've heard them other places but the sound system was just so bad.
