I personally love the store and the selection that they have! You can come up with so many creative ideas! I have never been a creative person but I had the idea of making my boyfriend a personalized card this year for Valentine's day so i went into Hobby Lobby and ideas just came flying! It has been alot of fun but... the first two times I went into the store, instead of buying online, the employees were rude! The first time I went in, I had asked an employee where something was and she looked at me like i was crazy because I was a few aisles away from what I was looking for, but no aisles are labeled so that makes it difficult. There is no direction as to where anything is. She just pointed and said "a few down that way". It took me about 10 minutes to find what I was looking for. And I had saw online that they had a sale and the two items I'll went in too get, were sale items. When I got up to the register the cashier said that they were not included in the sale and so I politely said okay then someone might want to move a sign that is by all of this, that way it doesn't indicate that these are on sale if they're not. So when I left I was pretty frustrated and when I got into my car I looked on my phone, looked online again and yes they were supposed to be on sale, the skus matched and everything. The second time I went in I had asked an employee if they carried something to put under a rug so it doesn't slip everywhere and she very rudely informed me that I need to go to a place that actually sells rugs, like Walmart. And I told her I know Walmart does but I would have rather spent my money there. I was dumbfounded because they had their rugs on sale for 50% off for their weekly ad. So my suggestion: order online if walmart doesn't carry what you are...
Read moreOn Friday 12/18, I purchased 2 rolls of wrapping paper. When I tried to wrap my gifts with the paper it was impossible because the texture of the paper was like sandpaper. No tape would work on it, including double faced. I took the one full roll and the opened roll. When I first went to the return counter the cashier, Kaitlynn G. explained I could not get a refund on the opened roll. I told her the inability to use this paper since nothing would stick to it. After looking at it Kaitlynn agreed the paper would be useless to wrap a gift. She decided under the circumstances she would discuss with a manager. She called for mgr assistance to Register 12. We waited for approximately 3 or 4 minutes while the line behind me grew. I told the cashier it was ok I'd just take my refund on the one roll and go. Kaitlynn then asked a manager to call her register. Someone called and said they would need to see the paper. (Hence, that's why they were asked to COME to the register on the FIRST request). When the assistant manager Michelle arrived, she looked at the open roll, while the cashier explained my situation. Michelle hurriedly said no since it was opened and not a full roll....which it was, it just been cut and the unusable piece was there. By this time I did not want to debate with Michelle with the ever growing line. I got the refund on the one roll. This long explanation, is not about the refund but about customer service. The way the management responded or the lack of response. The cashier outshined the manager by a mile when it came to...
Read moreI would like to give hobby lobby more stars because I like what they have to offer and they have good prices especially when things are on sale. I did see several things today without prices and I hunted down a manager and ask him to price a couple of things. My biggest issue is the checkout. not trying to be critical but it honestly seems like the people at the register take slow mo lessons. I have never, ever, and countered anything like hobby lobby check out. The people in front of me each had a piece of poster board with a 40% coupon and it took like 10 minutes to get them through the line it is like a one minute thing at dollar store so I'm totally don't get it. Poster board I'm not kidding. I tried to go back and forth another guy said he was counting his registerand it didn't open the entire time I was in language was over 20 minutes. Maybe we should count the till before we bring it to the register. Everyone was making remarks it's not that just me everyone. So please fix this! I see you have holiday stuff out something needs to change if a person needs to stay up there and wrap the glass items like a sacker would at a store and let it be. They waited till like 8 people in my line to call another cashier it should be three people. I think that's the rule at most...
