Office Depot — Local services in Blue Springs

I went in this store to find a womens brief case with spinner wheels for work and instead of a staff worker asking if I needed assistance, they sent a worker to come close by and pretend she was dusting. Her obvious, ridiculous, and sudden need to dust near me, made me decide to just order one from Amazon, instead of buying from them. My daughter and I had visited this store on one other occasion about a year ago, looking for an office chair and a bigger backpack for my daughter for college. We were followed by a worker then as well. The worker came to the isle we were on and stood there watching us. We left that day too and then ordered from Amazon. There's barely any cars in their parking lot and there was one other customer in there, who was caucasion, they didn't follow him. I hadn't been in this store for over a year, but I couldn't find the type of bag I wanted at the mall, so decided to try the Office Depot again. I will never go in there again. I see why nobody is in their store and why each time I went into the store, I only saw 1-2 other people and they were caucasion. The workers are all caucasion and when I walked in they were just standing around at the front entrance cashier desk. They see you come in, but say nothing. There's no diversity and it appears they don't provide customer service. It's been my experience, that they follow & watch non-caucasion customers. Apparently this store is far too ignorant to know that all money spends the same, no matter what race of hand it comes from. And if you assume certain races come to steal, you have an inner self issue. I'm pretty certain I earn more in a day than any worker in that store earns in a week. Well, I'll happily spend my money...

Wanted to update as a former employee of this store and all the recent bad reviews.

Corporate gave the former manager a bad deal so he ended up bolting. They relied on non manager staff for half a year and then hired an incompetent GM to replace. For instance, the GM broke many rules like changing schedules daily and said it was our responsibility and then made it the few workers who remained problem despite him being a GM should know that he cannot change a schedule after it's been posted. The harassment of the few workers who knew what were doing by him and the new crew he was trying to hire was immense.

My mom was dying of Leukemia and he didn't respect I had to have a set schedule to watch over her. He didn't care, in fact he smirked as he did this and was happy when I quit, even though I know this started the biggest downfall as customers and repeat customers especially would call me as I had a good rapport with a lot of them wondering what happened.

This manager is no longer the GM there, but Office Depot had no right hiring there in the first place. Any GM they have had after I can't say how qualified or how anything there is ran, but I know that they inherited a mess from this GM and from corporate not doing their jobs for half a year and trying to make me responsible for everything without paying for it. I, unfortunately, did it for way too long than I should have.

There's a reason you are encountering workers who don't know what they're doing, and it starts...

I was in there tonight to get some things printed I sent them ahead of time. I walk in store is empty and there’s a guy as soon as you walk in scanning some things I wait like 3 minutes and my son goes tot ell him we are needing to print some documents. Guy tells him it will be a minute 5 minutes go by a lady comes in and is ready to checkout she had tho physical get the guy to come ring her out after waiting for like 5 minutes. By now it’s been 10 minutes I’m still calm and patiently waiting he tells me it will be a minute another person and his kid comes get what they were there for and check out. I ask why can’t he come print my my documents just looks at me like I’m stupid and keeps doing what he was doing which was nothing. I walked out I have notice that lately most of the employees at this location hate their job is what I assume because anytime you come in to print they most generally always have an attitude. I don’t understand why you would get mad when people come in to get documents printed this is what you are...
