J&D Cakes — Restaurant in Boca Raton

We hired J&D Cakes based off their online reviews to bake a speciality cake for my nephew’s third birthday, and while the cake looked amazing, the taste and texture were a huge letdown.

I will say traveling from Georgia for our party, Joel and his team were really fantastic at responding to our requests in a timely manner. I genuinely appreciated his promptness and kind communication.

I will also say our cake looked AMAZING. When I picked it up at their shop, I was so excited for all of our friends and family to see and taste it. The quality of their decorations were beyond impressive. Unfortunately, that’s where my praise has to end. The inside of the cake was so incredibly dry it tasted stale. Even visibly, the actual cake looked like something that had been baked and left in the refrigerator for days. The buttercream icing under the fondant came off in chunks. When I looked around at all the parents and adults eating the cake, I could see the looks of disappointment on their faces. I was devastated. We spent $200 on a cake that was only half-eaten and ultimately thrown away.

In short, I would only consider recommending J&D Cakes if you only care about the aesthetics of your cake, or you’re just feeding it to children who won’t care what it...

My husband and I wanted an unconventional wedding cake, we are a bit nerdy and saw a Mario themed cake that we thought would be awesome. We saw 3 cake vendors in total, J&D cakes being the last one and not going to lie, we went in already thinking we would go with one of the other vendors. We met with Daniela and as soon as the cake touched our tastebuds we knew that this was the place. Easily some of the best cake we have ever had!! Not to mention they also had the best price point compared to the other places. As soon as we walked into the reception and we saw the cake we were blown away! It was EXACTLY what we wanted! The look of it was absolute perfection and then the taste, oh man the TASTE! It was INCREDIBLE and all of our guests were raving about it! Our friends days after we’re asking where we got the cake and how they want to go get one of their own. Daniela was nice, professional, and got back to us in a timely fashion with any questions we had. I cannot recommend J&D cakes enough!!! I recently ordered a cake from J&D Cakes for a special occasion, and I am absolutely blown away! Not only was the cake beautifully designed, but it also tasted incredible. The attention to detail in the decoration was stunning – it was exactly what I envisioned and more.

As for the taste – it was heavenly! The cake was moist, perfectly flavored, and the frosting was rich but not too sweet. Every bite was absolutely delicious, and it was a huge hit with all the guests. I’m still getting compliments on both the look and taste of the cake!

Communication with J&D Cakes was also fantastic. They were incredibly responsive, listened to my requests, and made sure everything was perfect. It was such a smooth experience from start to finish.
