La Terraza is a spectacular departure from the typical Boca fare. Itâs as close to the quintessential tapas experience as youâre going to get in south Florida. The dishes are authentic and flavorful, the Spanish wines spectacular and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is intimate. This isnât âour take on Spanish small plates,â this is real Spanish tapasâsmall dishes with simple ingredients prepared exceptionally well, made for sharing and socializing.
Donât let the location fool you, this is about as far from a strip-mall dining experience as possible. The interior is, cozy, intimate, and inviting with great mood lighting and architectural accents, as well as attentive and friendly service.
As a person of Spanish heritage, I can say that La Terraza hits the mark perfectly. The owner/chef is from Spain, and for anyone looking for an authentic European dining experience, itâs a must-have. If youâre not sure, keep in mind that this is real Spanish food, meaning food from Spain, and not Latin food like is more common throughout south Florida. There are some similar flavor profiles, but donât come expecting black beans and white rice and youâll have a great time.
Not only that, but they are also excellent with handling allergies, with separate equipment and stations for preparing foods with common allergens, which is a rarity.
Please give this place a shot. I hope it finds staying power in notoriously fuddy-duddy Boca Raton, where much of the aging population are accustomed only to 400 seat restaurants with large American plates that come with a side or salad. In contrast, this menu offers primarily small plates intended for sharing in an intimate atmosphere and each of the 7 dishes we had was distinctly delicious, perfect for sharing, and together made a memorable and filling meal.
Please come enjoy a meal at La Terraza! I would love for it to stick around just so I can keep...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Terraza, the new Spanish tapas restaurant in Boca Raton, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable experience!
The decor is charming, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. We had the pleasure of being served by Ricardo. He and his colleagues were very attentive and hospitable!
Now, let's talk about the food! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and made from high-quality ingredients. We ordered the Camarones Ajillo which were a highlight - succulent shrimp sautéed in garlic and olive oil that left me wanting more!
We also indulged in the Tabla Terraza, which featured a delightful selection of Jamon Iberico and Manchego cheese which came with pan con tomate, olives and potatas fritas patties. Each bite was a celebration of Spanish culinary tradition, skillfully prepared and beautifully presented.
Our main course was Mariscada Terraza which was accompanied with Spanish Rice. The broth was a tomato reduction infused with spices and emboldened by the flavors of the seafood medley. Magnificent!
We finished off our Spanish dining experience with a yummy Basque Cheesecake. My friend and I were already stuffed but found a way to make sure we finished off the desert.
If you're looking for a place to share great food and create wonderful memories with friends and family, I highly recommend La Terraza. I can't wait to go back and try more of their incredible tapas!

Read moreI was hopeful and hungry for tapas and some authentic Spanish food. While the atmosphere was nice the food did not impress me. I left generally disappointed. We went early to catch the happy hour specials which were reasonably priced. They provided their regular menu, the happy hour menu and their Monday special menu. We were told we could only choose either the happy hour of the Monday specials and could not order from both. Give that I wanted to try the paella which was not on the happy hour menu we went with the Monday specials. Here is what we had. The red sangria was good. The ham croquette's were pretty good but lacking a flavor blast. The calamari also pretty good but not the most tender I have had and only rings no legs. The garlic shrimp was probably my favorite thing of the day, besides heir table bread which was great although their olive oil had little flavor. Shrimp cooked perfectly and actually had great flavor. The tabla variada charcuterie was good but again not mind blowing. We then ordered the paella valenciana which was probably the biggest disappointment. So flavorless! The only thing that had a decent taste and flavor was the chorizo which was sparse. The rice was also overcooked and mushy. We ended with their cheesecake which was very good. Light and creamy. We usually don't get dessert but my wife was still hungry since she did not like most of what we ordered. Glad we did or we would have left even more disappointed. So sad that this place let me down. I really wants it to wow me. Oh well back to The Patio in east...
