Very disappointed. I have ordered from Maya at least once a week and have eaten at the restaurant several times. Prices are high. The food has been good or not so great. Always varies. I have had many orders messed up. Leaving out items, no spice at maximum spice level. Has tasted like water recently. I started eating here exclusively after eating at another Indian restaurant that seemingly scrubbed my food with a very old bristle brush that was falling apart after having scraped some hair off their body with it, probably an area I would rather not think about because I ate some before noticing. In my recent pickup order last night from Maya, I found some bristles and a hair in my order as I was eating. This is the last time I will eat there. I ordered recently where they left out most of the order or doordash ate it, and they compensated me for it. They compensated me and replaced the order when I chose to eat there again. I am not sure if they have been spitefully contaminating my food since or this is the standard quality now. With these bristles in my food, that is definitely the last time I will give them my money and eat there. Very disgusting and unhealthy.

It’s those kind of places where you get good feel, nice atmosphere, friendly people, nice location, ample parking space but No authentic taste. They might have modified themselves according to their local customers base but if you are just visiting the area, a tourist and trying to find a authentic Indian taste then try somewhere else. Food is great. I had Paneer Khurchan (their so called signature dish) and Lachchha Paratha. Paneer had very limited spices in it, i mean when you make Paneer khurchan or paneer bhurji (common name at other restaurants) there are many different type of spices you should use, it’s a very famous dish from North India. I called it extra spicy and all I got is bland Paneer Bhurji with lots of green chilies in it. I liked it and finished my meal but the true review is... it’s not real authentic Indian taste. Other than that everything is super nice. Service is also very fast, got my food in less than 10 minutes.

New ownership. New Management. New chef. ..... ....NEW FAVORITE INDIAN RESTAURANT. Everything came out piping hot, the rice was tender and fluffy, and everything was spiced and cooked to our specifications, including a vegetable substitution due to an allergy. Portions are plentiful, everything was delicious. We even ordered a goat dish (ishtu), which can sometimes be chewy. We requested it medium-it arrived tender, juicy and full of flavor. Definitely don't be afraid to try new things here. Everything was fantastic. The new chef really knocked it out of the park. It's a modern space with lots of light. I'd call it inviting, not necessarily romantic. But you will fall in love - - - with the food! It's on the back side of Boca Town Center, which means that the parking is plentiful and you wouldn't know it's there unless you were specifically looking for it. So, look for it! Hint- it's a few doors down from Publix.

I believe I was not fortunate on my visit to Maya on Nov 10th. Ambiance-wise the TVs were off, there was no music playing, nothing... to bad for a thematic restaurant for a start. We were seated, they gave us water, and then 10 minutes passed but no one came to our table. There were only 2 tables open! My wife and I were ready to leave, when I decided to call for the server, who by the way, spoke very little English (I found out later that he was Hispanic and since I speak Spanish, we were able to communicate). Then the server called for one of the managers it seems (he spoke English), who had seen us seated there for 10+ minutes (I wonder why he did not come before I had to call for someone).

My wife ordered their lamb chops, I asked his recommendation, which was a soup and the cauliflower. We had a 3-year-old with us, but they had no kids' menu whatsoever. I asked the manager-server to bring her some grilled chicken. My food came in fast, in less than 10 minutes, but it took them another 35 minutes to bring in my wife's plate. She ended up eating half of my food, since we were both quite hungry. When my daughter's plate arrived, there was enough chicken for 2 grown adults! And the pieces were so big that on my first cut I realized they were rare, we had to send them back in to cook some more.

In the end, when I asked for the check, they charged me $20 for the chicken (I had ordered a kid's plate, come on...). Not only that, my wife's lamb chops on the menu were $27, on the check they came for $35. I went and grabbed the menu on the counter, and verified that they were indeed $27. So when I called the manager-server gentleman, he said that I had gotten the wrong menu (??) and instead of honoring the $27 price he showed me a different menu and made me pay $35.

I love Indian cuisine, and I live super close, but I'm not going back there,...

Been a long time supporter of this place due to the fact the food is good and authentic which is rare to find. Have noticed a steady decline over the years in service and quality. Last night my family and I ate there and the restaurant was empty, we had it to ourselves, we kept noticing gnats flying all over the place which should have been the first red flag, we must have killed at least a dozen while there. It made the meal less enjoyable, it wasn’t until we finished the meal and had to wash up that the horrors of this place were unveiled… as soon as you entered the men’s room you’re hit with an ungodly stench, the foulest smell I’ve had the displeasure of ever being around and that’s coming from a diehard fisherman who’s been around days old rotting bait baking in the sun… my 7 year old had to cover his nose with his shirt and I was gagging the entire time in there as I helped him wash his hands with just water since there was no soap available at all. It also makes you wonder if the employees are properly sanitized while handling your food. We ran out of there as fast as we could and what leftovers we had went straight into the trashcan outside. Once home I had to throw up what ever contents of the food I had left since I had become evidently ill from the smell alone. My family has sworn off Indian food all together now unless it’s homemade. We hate to stereotype but poor hygiene is a common theme with Indian restaurants and unfortunately tonight, Maya delivered on...
