I have had excellent service and good food here in the past, but, last night was an entirely different story. at 5pm, I called in an order for 3 people, for pick-up, and was told it would be ready at 6pm, so, that is when i told my friends and co-workers we would eat. We all planned our evening accordingly, from that point on; being a weeknight, we wanted to have an enjoyable evening, but still, also wanted to get enough sleep, so as to be alert, relaxed and ready for work, the next day.
Of course, that is not what happened, because clearly, the staff at quinn's doesn't think the customers who order via phone matter very much and they do not respect anyone else's time, or the fact that some people like to keep their word to others and do have schedules they must adhere to. I would have complained to management, but, we were already running behind and stressed.
Plus, a staff is a direct reflection of their superiors, so, since the staff doesn't care about happy customers, it's not likely management does, either. Meanwhile, it was not even busy, and the waitress was standing around counting tips, rather than finding out why our food was not ready! I see she couldn't care less about that, yet, does care about the money she gets from customers, without actually doing anything to deserve the money she's too busy counting, to attend to customers for!
Count your money later, lady, how about actually attempting to earn it, from customers, who are here, RIGHT NOW!? What a HORRIBLE work ethic and a big, sucking, black hole, where her pride and sense of responsibility should be. And what nerve, to have such a wildly over-inflated sense of entitlement, in place of any pride or work ethic!
When we arrived at 6pm last night, we were told it would be another 10 minutes. Fine, we were understanding and patient, and when 10 minutes came and went, we were told the food was being boxed up, so it wouldn't be long. Another 10-20 minutes went by, before we finally got our food! That is totally unacceptable! Plus, we should have checked the food before we left, because, that was equally, or, perhaps, even more unacceptable, especially given the wait. We probably could have called in an order somewhere else and gotten it sooner, along with better food! If what we were served at quinn's even deserved to be called that, as it was not even fit for the dog to eat!
i ordered corned beef and cabbage, and, the corned beef had NO seasoning, save for the entire bucket of salt they apparently dumped onto it, which must have been the reason it literally crumbled, like old, decaying wood, under the slightest pressure, from my fork! Every piece of the cabbage, literally had burn marks on it, and i cannot conceive of how this could happen, as, i thought it was typically prepared by boiling it...
The potatoes were at least cooked properly, but, again, no seasoning whatsoever was used on them. How can you get best of boise, with such lazy, complacent, soulless cooking? whatever misanthrope "cooked" this atrocity, could not possibly care any less about their job, and seems to in fact, hate their job, and their life, because no pride whatsoever went into this terrible meal. How can you serve that mess to people, have you no shame? I would hide in abject embarrassment, i could not present that meal to anyone but those i truly despised! I don't think we did anything to deserve such punishment...
Good thing they also serve alcohol here, because they are clearly relying on numbed taste buds and people with drunk munchies, for the best of boise votes, as that is the ONLY way they can win that achievement, based on last night's terrible excuse for a meal and dismissive service. and now, our entire party is exhausted for work today, with only a ball of annoyance and frustration in our heads, toward their service and a belly full of slop, to show for it! Not at all worth all the hassle, not in...

Read moreSomething has changed here! On a plus, the service is outstanding but the food, not so much! We had finger steaks and chicken fried steak. Here is the run down of what happened: We seated ourselves and after a brief wait, the waiter came and was very nice getting our drink order and leaving the menus. The prices are $15.00 to $19.00 on average for a dinner plate and more if you go for the steak. That being said, you expect a bit better. I digress.....so we received our drinks, mine was a margarita and his a diet coke. Mine did not taste like a margarita but rather, mostly tequila. Great if you like it that way! Small skinny glass too. Once the food came, I put the drink on the back burner and dug in to eating. That is when we realized things took a turn for the worse here. Hubby's mashed potatoes were instant potatoes with gravy all over them and his chicken fried steak was one that started frozen and pre-breaded then fried. You can always tell on those that they took a cheaper route. The bread was thick toast. No homemade rolls or cornbread like some use. Just toaster bread. The finger steaks were a bit worse. They are known for these but mine were under cooked. The batter was still runny on the inside! I also had onion rings. Those were dripping in grease. I told the waiter and he was apologetic and proceeded to get a new batch of finger steaks. We laughed when he brought them out and left after saying he made sure they were were thoroughly cooked. Oh boy were they! Almost burned. Not quite but they were so tough and over cooked that we just laughed! At that point, I figured we would get gone and unless they improve the quality and flavor, we will not be back. Kind of a shame as they used to be good. I think only the salad was good which I took home and finished. Maybe the breakfasts are better, I don't know, but the prices these days for eating out, it better be outstanding as folks cannot afford it but once in a great while. Better change something or your customers...
