Edit: I sent an email asking for a follow up on 2/26 I send a second email as a friendly reminder on March 11th, after I sent the first email. Today on March 14th almost a month since I went to the restaurant and 3 weeks since I left the review & was asked to reach out. I have still heard nothing.
I went Saturday the 17th with my wife. We did not have reservations and expected a little wait. We'll when we got there we were told 30 yo 45 minutes. Ok, so we went & sat down to wait. The place was full. After about an hour of waiting, we went to ask if there was any update. We were very rudely told by Chris that there are a lot of people and more with reservations so they'll be seated first. I asked if he's had any idea of how much longer? He again rude as could be said "could be 20 minutes could be an hour, I'll get to you when I get to you" At this point I was incredibly frustrated. I went back to sit with my wife & wait. We were discussing leaving and other options. The family next to us had been waiting just a little longer than us over heard of conversation and said they weren't happy with how they were treated either. Then the man from that family went to see how long their wait was. And came back so mad told his wife & daughter they were leaving. He said the party if 3 for Holly is them and if their name was called to take their reservation. By this point is been over 90 minutes of waiting for us and longer for them. NY wife cleverly put a reservation in the system that was over an hour yet so away. But we asked again and we're just as quickly dismissed. After over 2 & a half hours of waiting we were sat next to the kitchen pass where wait staff comes & goes. And it was only because my wife put the reservation in. Otherwise we would have still been waiting for a table. He bassically tossed the menus on the table and walked away. We were upset & no longer wanted to stay. We ordered onion rings, & when we got them they were still soggy & raw. My wife ordered a burger and about 35 minutes later we didn't want to stay. We asked to cancel our order & pay for our rings & iced tea. We asked for a manager. The young man who was our server was as polite and kind as could be. He tried very hard being such an over packed night. But we just couldn't take it. We reassured him he didn't do anything. We just had enough and wanted to go home. The manager came to our table & was as polite, kind, warm & charming as anyone I've ever dealt with anywhere. He apologized over and over listening to our frustration. We appreciate his kindness & he did ask us to call ahead in a few weeks because his wife is about to have a baby. But to call in a few weeks & he would personally over see our next visit. We have almost no interest going back because of Chris. But this man was so kind, my wife & I said we would give them one more shot. But it's going to have to be pretty impressive to erase Chris's horrible treatment & lack of...
Read moreYeeh -haaaaw! Pardon me for such a Montana greeting BUT… this place has me lacing up my spurs and heading for the mountains! Whoa, let’s start from the beginning… On this day, we had lunch at Ted’s Montana Grill and let me tell you, this place is more than impressive. So, let’s start by saying that this place is beautiful. Not in a modern, ice cold techno, frigid kinda way. This place reminds me of what a 1920’s speakeasy would look like. It’s decorated with dark, yet warm and well appointed wood and light, slightly off white colors. This is paired with some of the BEST service received recently. From the warm welcome at the door, to the incredibly professional, yet delightfully intimate server, our experience was top notch. We opted for some of their very popular burgers. Bison Burgers. Yes. Bison. We ordered the GEORGE'S CLASSIC CADILLAC Bison burger, topped with BBQ sauce, cheddar, bacon, served with a 2 types of lettuce, tomato and purple onion. The bacon… the bacon was probably the BEST bacon I have EVER tasted. I review food, and I have had a tried a lot of bacon, but this bacon makes you wanna cowboy up and head for Montana! Very well balanced burger and the fresh gamey flavor of the bison were a starting delicious surprise. This came with garlic mashed potatoes that were also perfect. We also ordered the AVALON topped with gruyère, blue cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, roasted garlic aioli and baby arugula. I tell you… Blue cheese is hard to pair successfully. Not here. It was fantastic! The exotic combo of the cheeses, bacon and arugula combined with a smear of mayo and mustard and WOW! It’s like a stick of flavor dinamite went boom in your taste buds. We chose the 50/50 Onion rings and fries and could not have been happier. After devouring both burgers we did not have room for dessert, which we now regret with choices like Kahlua fudge Brownie and 2 adult shakes with Kahlua, vodka and Jack Daniel’s. The menu is WAY larger than dozen or so burgers, with some impressive seafood and steaks and some striking bison dishes. But that’s a story for...
Read moreI have always enjoyed Montana Teds, but this visit, pretty disappointing...took almost 20 minutes to get our drinks, by then we were more than ready to order, I asked for my ribeye medium and asked if they could blacken it.. the server said yes, well I don't know what kind of seasoning they used... something with anise but it ruined the whole taste of the steak... as he brought the entree out, he informed me they were out of sweet potatoes, well that's ok, but do you think he could have told us that when he put the order in?now as I made my cut in the steak, it was rarer than rare, server never came by to see how everything tasted, so thinking he might, I decided to start off with the asparagus... slightly undercooked and not really warm to the touch.... finally my son got up and asked for him to take the steak back to the kitchen, he offered me onion rings instead of the sweet potatoes, which were good, then brought the steak back, sat it in front of me and walked away, really? Meanwhile the Man who appeared to be mgmt, was walking around giving everyone the thumbs up signal, everything good? As he continued to walk... not by any means a table visit.... then there was another 20 minutes for the check and a real doggie bag (I could not bear that taste of the seasoning) there was also a table of 8 that got up and walked out while we were sitting there.... they never got their drinks...I have been in the restaurant business for 40 yrs, I a.m rethinking why i left this server 20%, just trying to give the benefit of the doubt. .we left and passed Ted's on the way to our car over an hour later, and our table in the alcove out front had still not been cleared... this clearly lack of foh management.. just thought you'd like to know...I will still go to Ted's, but not...
