Have bought three different vehicles from here and every single time afterwards there have been issues that I’ve let go until the latest issue.
First I’ll start off and say our sales person, Quincy is great at his job.
Second, first vehicle was an 18 Colorado. Literally days after getting it AC started blowing warm. Didn’t offer to help take a look at it or get an appointment scheduled for us at the local Chevy dealer, which is what it is just was annoying.
Third, second vehicle we bought was a Nissan Rogue. First time it was brought in for service(3000 miles after purchase), ie an oil change and tire rotation, we got nailed with being told it needed to have tires rotated and balanced due to uneven wear, needed new filters(engine air and cabin air) and something else I’m currently blanking on. When asked why these things mainly the filters were caught in the used car check and if they’d help with the cost were told they’d check into it and get back to us. Still waiting on that and we don’t even have the car anymore.
Fourth, Kia Forte that we bought had no major issues until we traded it in elsewhere. Had to do the cancellation paperwork for the extended warranty and gap insure multiple times because it was lost. During this experience Robert who was the finance manager involved with this blamed me for them losing the paperwork involved and then promptly hung up on me. Thankfully, Nathan a sales manager at the time was able to get it figured out and everything processed quickly at that point after a three week delay.
Fifth and lastly, recently traded in the Nissan Rogue and did the paperwork again for the cancellation of both the extended warranty and gap insurance. Was told it was processed at the beginning of October and we should see our refund the next to last week of October. Waited two weeks and hadn’t received anything so called back. Talked again with Kris about this issue and he said he’d call the warranty company to find out what was going on, but did mention this time there was a chance that the refund had been sent to the bank we had the loan with possibly. After he talked to the warranty company, that turned out to be the case and they’ve had the money for weeks now. When asked why this wasn’t possibly mentioned in our last conversation, excuses were made of this being the first time it has happened. Which entirely contradicted what he said in our first conversation today. Instead of offering to do anything to help with the situation or confirm that the bank actually has the money we are owed, was told it’s now my responsibility to find out what happened.
Needless to say I’m said to see how far VAO has fallen compared to when it was VSA, but it doesn’t surprise me with the current finance department that is there. Complaints were made years ago and ignored. I feel sorry for the people I know who still work there who are good people. Good luck, but the last bit of good will I had to this place is gone after my interaction...
Read moreI totally agree with Barry R. What is different for me? Stuck in the parking lot at 2am. 2009 not cranking. New battery. Jumping did no good. Knew it had to be electrical. A co-worker brought me home, out of her way. Woke up the next morning thinking, I've got a good job even with it challenging. But I need reliable transportation to keep this job. A friend came by to pick me up 2 weeks earlier, when a new battery ended up fixing the problem. "You've got to do something.". She packed me in her car that rainy day and headed north. We both know Amherst County. First stop was VA Select, and a young woman came out. Okay, I can deal with this. But we checked out a couple of prices before she even got to us. No way with my credit and dead car issues. I waited for VA Select to open. Called. Emily Woody answered. Explained I need to buy a reliable car, but I don't have transportation to va Select. She mentioned filling out online credit application when she got back to me. I said no, I'm not going to do that. I don't even know if you have what I need. I don't even know what I need. Can you send me a pic of your driver's license? Yes. Did you get it? Yes ma'am. When can you be ready? I'm ready now. 10 minutes or so later I'm climbing in a big pickup. Emily had told me cheapest car on the lot was a 2017 Ford Fiesta. She showed me that, and two others in the same ballpark. I just felt happy looking at it. Comparing all three. The hatchback really sold me. Okay, my ride that was just too much for me to keep sinking money into as a single older woman. Was a Volvo 5 speed turbo that my son brought me after my old 240 started giving problems. The story doesn't end with Emily and me going out for a test drive. Silly as this sounds, I look at her and say, so you're going to drive it? Hey, I'm not used to new cars. She hands me the key and says, No, you're the one considering buying this car. You're driving. She cranked up the ac, turned on the radio, and when we pulled out heading north on 29, I floored it. Nope, not a turbo. But, that little car moved like one little bullet. I was satisfied. Story is not over. Sent second son pic of new car and told him about how much Emily was a help. He says, "Yeah, she's nice.". What do you mean she's nice? Like thinking he went to school with her, or maybe her parents? "Nah. She sold us our cars." Not over yet. I'm sitting in the parking lot, relaxing before time to go in. And a young girl stops at my window. "Is this a 2017 Ford Fiesta?? "Yes.". "I saw the red Dot on the back. You got it from VA Select.". Yes. I looked at this car. Went home to think about it. Came back next day and was told it was gone." In a way, I felt bad. But, I really don't. I know Va Select will help her...
Read moreI found a vehicle on their lot on Sunday that I wanted. I went home and checked on line and viewed the information they had on it. I went to the dealership first thing Monday morning to see it but was not allowed to drive it as it had not been through their shop yet. I was told to sign in with a sales person and I did. He said he would call me as soon as it was ready. He called at 1 pm to say they were still waiting on an oil filter and he would call as soon as it was ready and that I was first in line to be called. He also asked if I would be financing or paying cash. I told him I was prepared to do it either way depending on terms. While waiting all day for the call back, I contacted my insurance co. for a quote on adding the new vehicle and was sorting out the details to pay for the vehicle. The salesperson never called back. I went to the dealer at 4 pm and the salesman could not be located. Another sales person told me the truck, which was sitting out front ready to go was already sold to someone else. Due to a problem which had come up, the general manager was not available to talk to me. I remarked that this was no way to do business and I believe it was the sales manager that said he was sorry I felt that way! He didn't seem to really care at all how I felt at all. I came back an hour later to see if I could talk to the manager but he had left. My salesman was also not around to talk to. I again in disbelief remarked how bad this had been handled. The staff was ready for me to leave at that point. I told a customer on my way out to be careful, that they didn't do business very ethically. A couple of the sales staff got up and rushed me to the door hollering for me not to talk to their customers and told me to leave or they would call the police. I have never been treated like this anywhere in my life. I have worked at car dealerships all my life and I have never seen a customer treated like I was treated. Something is seriously wrong at Virginia...
