Read moreZoe at Lake Park Diner is hands down the bartender you didnât know you needed in your life. Her energy? Immaculate. Her cocktails? Perfection. Her vibe? Too blessed to be stressed and it shows in every drink she pours and every interaction she has. Sheâs got that rare combo of speed, skill, and personality that makes you feel like a regular even if itâs your first time.
Honestly, Zoe is 10x better than the vanilla super shakeâwhich, by the way, is already a little piece of heaven in a glass. She doesnât just mix shakes; she elevates the entire bar experience. If Lake Park Diner had a secret ingredient, it would be Zoe. Donât walkârunâto the bar and see what I mean. đ¸đĽ
A Portal to Deliciousness
I donât know what kind of magic is hidden inside that bright red British telephone booth outside Lake Park Diner, but I walked in craving coffee and walked out floating on a cloud of flavor euphoria.
First offâletâs talk about the Easter Super Shake. This wasnât just a milkshake, it was a spiritual experience served in a glass. Topped with rainbow sprinkles, a mountain of whipped cream, and two pink Peeps staring into my soul like sugary gatekeepers of joy, it hit every sweet tooth I have and then invented a few new ones.
Now, if you think a veggie bowl canât be exciting, you clearly havenât met the Tahini Veggie Bowl here. It was so fresh, colorful, and delicious, I almost apologized to it before eating it. Flavorful roasted vegetables, perfectly balanced tahini drizzleâit made me forget I ever loved bacon.
Stephen, our server, was the kind of guy who makes you feel like a VIP without even trying. Attentive, friendly, and knew the menu like it was tattooed on his heart. And Dani, the manager? This girl runs a tight ship with all the calm charisma of someone whoâs figured out life. The service was smoother than the shakeâand thatâs saying something.
So whether you're teleporting in through the phone booth, or just wandering byâdo yourself a favor and walk into Lake Park Diner. Just be prepared: you might leave in love with a veggie bowl, two marshmallow bunnies, and a whole new outlook on what a...
Read moreAfter more than a year of anticipation and the long process of construction, I went to Lake Park Dinerâs new location at Founders Square. I knew it would be hard to match the gem that is the original. Still, I thought with all that time and planning surely this would be least good on its own. Sadly - the reality was worse than I ever thought possible. Terrible service, dirty tables, bland food and a lot of disappointment for what was a pricy meal.
The menu looked familiar, that was one of the few positives. After giving our order, we went to find a table. We discovered at least a dozen open tables, long deserted, yet still filled with dirty dishes. Those without mounds of dishes were unclean. We finally settled at what appeared to be the least sticky table - and had to wait several minutes for someone to bring our drinks so we could ask them to wipe down the table. The person said they were short staffed - yet we saw plentiful table runners and others who could have easily been bussing tables.
The drinks were good. The food - awful. Our fish tacos tasted like the fish was frozen and barely defrosted. The salads on our tofu bowl were dripping over the edge as if someone hastily threw them into the bowl. The buffalo cauliflower was barely cooked and drenched in sauce.
One feature that was lacking was service. The original location has a table manager - who is there checking in on tables and keeping the flow moving. That person makes sure customers are happy and the space is clean. The new location did not have this feature and it was sorely missed. Case in point - not once did anyone check to see how we are doing. We also saw table runners on several occasions walking in circles without anyone to point them to the right table to deliver food.
End result - we wonât be going back. The original Lake Park is worth the drive. This one - not...
