Let me start out this review with a couple of clarifying notes: 1) My wife and I consider ourselves "foodies" and oenophiles, and more than anything want this place to succeed. We stopped in last night (sat at the bar) for just a couple of appetizers and drinks. First impressions were good overall with staff and ambiance. I will start off with the "good", and then follow-up with constructive suggestions for improvement; The Good: 1) Boom/boom shrimp was very good; nicely spiced with a slight "bite", lightly breaded, with a flavorful sauce drizzle. 2) Staff friendly and attentive; 3) Tuna tartar was also "good" (my wife liked it better than me); it was "seasoned" and slightly spicy, fresh, and nicely plated; I didn't care for the sliced scallions (too strong), and needed more avocado to balance out the other strong flavors. Again, not my favorite, but my wife would order again; Now, suggestions for improvement: 1) I ordered draft Stella, which I expected to be in $5-6 range, but it was $7, which I would be "ok" with if pour is a standard pint as opposed to a 10-12 oz small beer mug, 2) menu is small and simple (which is fine); but menu items had no descriptions requiring you to probe on what exactly items consist of, 3) menu is ala cart, and sides (larger), can not be ordered in 1/2 orders, which seemed to be an easy thing to offer but we were told not an option, 4) Overall prices are very high given ala cart, 5) house wine is "Sycamore Lane" (which is $5-$6 a bottle retail and basically undrinkable, selling for $8/glass), for an upper end steak house, this is unacceptable; 6) presently no HH is available, we were told it's...
Read moreSaw that the Prime House has just opened over the weekend and decided to give the place a try, guessing that it was a steak house. The lighted sign was not up yet. We were NOT disappointed. The restaurant was an upscale steakhouse with a good assortment of menu choices. To start with we were greeted at the door, and again at the table by our wait staff. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine and started with the Tomato and Mozzarella appetizer for 2. It was excellent. The menu is ala-carte. My wife ordered the Fillet medium and I the Fillet medium plus. For a side we chose the mashed potatoes. Nancy, our waitress, did not place the order for our meal until after we were done with our appetizer. This was great as it gave us just enough time before our steaks came out. The Fillets were cooked to perfection and were tender and full of flavor. The mashed potatoes were a bit bland, but after adding some butter, salt and pepper they were fine. After dinner we passed on desert but they sounded nice. Would definitely dine there again as it is...
Read moreHad high hopes to try this place out as it came recommend by a friend.
Walking up to the front door the staff immediately told my friend (disabled veteran with a service dog) that his service dog was not allowed inside.
Asked for the manager and he reaffirmed that the service dog was not allowed in.
The owner should be ashamed at how their staff treated potential customers and need to train their staff on federal ADA laws.
UPDATE: Updating to reply to the owner. We were denied 100% to eat in the dining room and were instead told we could eat on the patio with the service animal. I also didn’t start recording until 3 minutes into the conversation after we had already been denied dining room service because of the service animal. I wasn’t looking for any trouble at all but when we were denied I thought it was good to record. Beau or I were not the disabled veteran you denied to enter with his service animal. We were 2 of the 3...
