We have enjoyed Wyld's Cafe for a # of years, but, tonight we took friends with us, as our first time there this fall (2021). The food was still very good, and the service was experienced. However, we were disappointed with the menu. It has changed................no more of their fabulous sauces....Not even one chicken offering......what was advertised as "crispy" fries was served as "soggy" fries; but, the final insult was that when we got the check: there was a $6.00 charge on the tab for "Bread." There was no notification when we asked if we could have more bread that there would be a charge for 3 chunks of sourdough bread!!! This was shocking to us. We eat out 4/5 nights a week, and we have never had a restaurant charge us for bread............ It is quite clear that this is not the same ownership/management as in the past many years. If you want to be gouged for your food, come on down..........it is good, but don't ask for a 2nd basket of 3 pieces of bread!!! It is not worth it!! It...
Read moreDefinitely coming back. 4 of us: To start we had - fresh baked sourdough for the table - Mushroom soup 5, stuffed mushrooms 5, ahi tuna nachos 5, Caesar salad 5... entrees - Halibut 5, Hudson pasta 5, duck breast 5, meatloaf 4 (would've been 5* had it been nice & hot!) - and (desserts) chocolate cake 5, crepe Brule (x2) 5. Of the sides we loved - creamy shallot risotto, honey glazed carrots, skinny onion rings, dolce, and quality of chocolate used in desserts at THE TOP of our favorites. Everyone was friendly & accommodating, despite us running late. The environment was elegant & slightly quirky (which did not detract from the meal, just an older building clearly). And presentation was well attended to. We will return to this Bonita Springs gem in the future now we know where it's "hiding". :) Thank you, staff, for making it a wonderful Tuesday...
Read moreFirst time at Wyld’s Café won’t be the last. The food was downright awesome. First our server, Lemm was wonderful, attentive, funny, playful and knowledgeable. My wife and our friend Karen ordered a special braised rib and it was also very good, not great, very good. My friend, Keith had the hog fish and it was so good, he didn’t even offer to share it. We had one bottle of some red wine from Portugal and it was wonderful.. so we had another, hence the reason for it being nameless. For the record, we split the bill and I tipped 1 penny...
