Let me start off by saying that I love Señor Tequila’s food. I’ve been eating here over 10 years now. Tonight’s experience, however, wasn’t very pleasant.
We ordered off the menu that is on their website and were going off those prices. Based on the prices shown on that menu, our total for 3 entrees and an appetizer should have been $60.49. Imagine my husband’s surprise when he showed up to pick up our order and was told the total was $71.46. That’s almost an $11 difference. They didn’t give him a receipt so we didn’t know how much they charged per item, all they gave him was the paper that prints off in the kitchen with the order. We immediately hopped online to figure out why the prices were much higher. I looked at the menu prices they have on their Google page but it still didn’t add up. I went back on their website and clicked on the button to order online. Apparently that’s the one with the correct prices. I’m not sure why they don’t have the updated prices on their own website menu, it seems a little deceitful or at least negligent.
Our entrees were tasty enough but the appetizer was honestly a waste of money. We got the Super Nachos and the chips were stale and stuck to the cold cheese at the bottom of the aluminum container. It’s like they’d been left sitting there for a long while. The amount of guacamole and (melted) sour cream they gave us was comical, I’ll include a photo. I would be embarrassed to serve that to anybody.
At $18 for 2 cheese enchiladas with rice and beans, prices are now pretty steep. I know that restaurants have had to raise their prices for a number of reasons, but you still need to deliver quality food at a price that’s fair to the customer. You also need to communicate any changes so the customer can make a better informed decision in regards to what they’re purchasing. I’m sad to say I probably won’t be dining at Señor Tequila’s for a while. I recommend going to Maria’s here in Bonita or Salsa Brava in North Naples to anyone looking for great Mexican food at a fair price.
Edit: they have finally updated the menu prices on...
Read moreUpdate, came in to eat waited after finally being sat for 20 minutes..it was not busy so I was not happy, no drinks for another 15 minutes, service was not as it was before, the server acted like she was bored and upset we were taking up her time, food arrived and was lukewarm, I mentioned politely could it be heated and she just looked at me, I felt uncomfortable at this point, we payed over $100 with tip was definitely not worth the price and I'd recommend Mr Tequila's ( which I've ate at numerous times, and they don't change in service) for better food and friendliness. /2023We came in late evening and was seated promptly..our server was awesome, she was friendly and kept a check on us thru-out our meal.. the decor was nice and made for a comfortable relaxed evening.. started with a drink, a salted tequila margarita on ice, good..and the peach daiquiri was like a desert, refreshing and tasty..I had the shredded Pork Chimichanga it was delicious, served with beans and rice, all great..we also had ordered a Chicken Relano served with beans & rice with the white cheese**,which after tasting I wished I had ordered on mine..the food was hot and filled you up..tasted yummy, the chips and salsa were fresh tasting..the salsa is spicy hot ..so be warned ...many like it hot, but as I'm going thru treatments hot can be to hard on me, so there was a mild salsa also served .but that was even a bit to spicy for me ...tasted great but had to watch it as I ate, so again heads up" sample before you plunge in." ..the desserts looked great but as we were full by then.. we want to definitely check them out next visit. To our server a beautiful young lady who gave great service, thank you " to those cooking " gracias" it was great..and I'd definitely recommend checking them out they are on my "go back again list" .they are 5 stars plus...
Read moreUpdate August 7, 2021 - oh how time changes things. We used to love coming to Señor Tequila's. The food and service were (past tense) always great. Unfortunately the staff and management have gone down hill considerably. The food is still good but when we visited Saturday, the service was downright HORRIBLE. We were in there 2 hours. Service USED to be so much better. People that came in a long time AFTER us had already eaten and left. 1.) It took a loooong time to get our food (enchiladas and fajitas) when others who came in long after us already had their food. 2.) The server was never around and never asked how we liked our food. I could see her chit chatting with the manager. We were lucky to get a second round of drinks. 3.) The final straw is that I had to bring my payment to the "manager" so we could leave at a decent hour. If I see the same people there again, I will leave. Time for a change up in staff.
Was 5 stars - The best Mexican food we've had since moving to Southwest Florida. Excellent taste. Just like our favorite place back home. We want to come back and are already planning Cinco de Mayo here next year.
Was 5 stars - Update 20181123 - we came back again and the food was just as wonderful as it was before. Our server was great. We ordered the deep fried ice cream for dessert. Mmmmmmmm!!!! Still...
