I brought my family here that was visiting from out of town. I am a local and had never eaten here but because of allergy concerns for my family, decided this was the place to go. We arrived with a 35 minute wait time given, which was fine. After we had waited 45 minutes, one of our party went to inquire about how long we would have to wait plus we witnessed several other parties being seated before us that had arrived after us. We were a party of 4. We were told we were next to be seated. We then waited another 20 minutes and again saw at least 3 parties seated without our party being seated. Another member of our party went to inquire and was told we had been crossed off the list. Not only were other parties being seated but there were several 4 party tables available the entire wait time. We were then seated. The waiter was excellent in bringing chips and salsa to a very hungry group (NOT complimentary). Our entrees took another 30 minutes to arrive and when it did arrive, one of my family's food was cold and tasteless. My allergic family member was afraid to eat after the comments by the wait staff of adding tofu and tamari to dishes stating tamari has no soy in it (it does) and ate only the white rice on her plate. The rest of us were so hungry we ate anyway not wanting to wait any longer. There were many red flags with the allergy concerns ie. waiter notified of soy and gluten allergies and offering tofu and tamari on the entree to this individual. Not one offer to make this bad situation right by offering a discount or complimentary anything. I am thoroughly embarrassed that I took my out of town family here. All told, we were there over 2 1/2 hours trying to get lunch and missed activities we had planned for the afternoon for our family. I will not be visiting...

We had to wait 40 minutes for a table. Once there, there the waitress took our food and drink order. We were told the wait for food would be an additional 45 minutes, which we were fine with. For the next hour and a half, we were completely ignored. Every time she walked by, she would either not look at us, or look at us and immediately turn and look the opposite direction. Finally, I had to stand in front of her to get her attention and ask how much longer the wait for our food would be. "Well it's a 40 minute wait," was her reply. I explained we had been waiting for an hour and a half and I wanted to speak to a manager. She runs to the back, and lo and behold out walks the assistant manager with our food! She asked what the problem was and after explaining, she said she could put our warm smoothies in the fridge and bring us water to drink while we eat and give us 20% off our order. I told her that wasn't good enough. She then told me should could deduct the price of one of the meals from the ticket. I told her that would be fine. After eating, the assistant manager brought us the bill. Instead of taking off one of the meals, she took the 20% off. When I asked why the change, I was told they couldn't take off one of the meals from the ticket. When I asked why she told me she could, she said she thought she could and I still had to pay the bill I was handed. I will never return to Hob Knob to eat. If I can't get acknowledged as a customer and get lied to by the management, I...

This eatery is now my favorite place in Boone. Our server Carrie was awesome! She made some great suggestions.

We were all in the mood for a burger. Considering the most important factor, LOCAL! They source their meats from a farm only 6 miles away. Our decision was made!

The boys had the mushroom Gouda burgers & sides of soup & I had the Watauga and a side salad with cilantro dressing. It was exactly what I needed after a long week.

I overheard my husband say it was one of the best burgers he has ever had. And he is a picky guy since he is a wonderful cook. The owner Nova took a moment to chat with me. There is a something about her that makes a person feel like they are visiting an old friend. There is no wonder she is running this unique eatery. Even the decor makes me feel happy! Wild Craft Eatery is a gem!

Visited again on April 21 & when the boys said where should we go I said, to the best place in Boone where I can trust the ingredients and quality!

We were greeted so warmly by Nova and Carrie was once again our server. We truly feel like family when we are in their restaurant!

There is creativity & love in their menu. I added a new video and pic for the updated review. PS Thank you for the lovely gift! We will make good use of it and think of...

Food quality / price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is eclectic, and they have a wonderful outdoor seating area. The menu is a wide ranging mix of extraordinarily well chosen dishes, all of which have unique twists you won't find anywhere else! I had the Grilled Cheese Extraordinaire with bacon that came on a perfectly grilled locally baked bread. It was quite likely the nest grilled cheese I've ever had. A cup of spicy homemade sweet potato corn chowder came with it, and was a perfect accent to go with the grilled cheese. They have a full bar and a wide variety of canned and bottled beers. Their specialty cocktails include several unique and original recipes, including a special method that freezes water at the bottom of the cocktail glass where it remains while you drink your cocktail - very clever and original. We finished our meal with a couple of house made blueberry sugar cookies that were fantastic! The manager, Carrie, was very attentive answering our questions and informative regarding the food and its preparation and local sourcing. Our server, Kacya, was also attentive with the service we were given. The prices were right, and the portions were generous. This restaurant deserves a rare rave review.

Walking through downtown Boone, the wife and I worked up an appetite. After window shopping a few restaurants we decided on Wild Craft Eatery. After walking in, the humble appearance of the restaurant had us second guessing our decision, HOWEVER the food reassured us that our choice was the right one. The wife ordered a grill cheese sandwich with avocado and tomato. She also ordered tomato gouda soup. I ordered a hamburger with the side. Unsure of what my side would be, I became a copycat and also ordered tomato gouda soup. The wait wasn't too long. We chatted and before we knew it, the food was in front of us. A few bites in my better half said her sandwich was delicious. Two spoonfuls of soup later, she commented the soup was even better. In fact, she said this was the best tomato soup she had ever tasted. My burger was no less spectacular. It was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted in NC. And the tomato gouda soup was the best I've ever tasted. The only negative was I thought the burger should have come with a side of fries. But regardless, it was worth the cost. We'll definitely return on our future trip to Boone.
