Would give a negative rating if I could Absolutely terrible experience. Was just there a few minutes ago. Excited to eat there for the second time ever. First time was a few months ago and the food was great, service was great. My husband and I sat down tonight and ordered our drinks, appetizer and entrees. The waitress brought out our drinks. I ordered water. There was something stuck on the inside of my cup. No big deal, just get a fresh cup of water. There was an employee sweeping the main floor. She was very busy sweeping and looked tired. I was watching her sweep so I could catch her eye when she was done and ask for a fresh glass of water. All of a sudden she stands up straight and stalks past me muttering about how she can't sweep with a psycho staring at her. I was a bit startled but ok, whatever. I walked up to the employee only part and poked my head around the corner and asked for a fresh glass of water. A waitress brought it to me. I'm not sitting far from the employee only part and I hear the girl telling someone how uncomfortable the woman staring at her made her feel. I poked my head out the booth and apologized for making her feel uncomfortable and explained I didn't want to interrupt her but just needed a clean glass of water. She rudely just said i should have just waved my hand at her (ok, fair point but i didn't want to interrupt her because she was so busy sweeping). I figured apologizing would make her feel better. Not two minutes later I hear the same girl not even ten feet away from me telling 3 other waitresses about how uncomfortable the staring psycho woman made her feel. I'm sorry but that was it for me. I didn't even want our food so I canceled our order, spoke to the manager (who I felt bad for because apparently he had just gotten to work (and who was very professional). I don't know the womans name, I dont know what kind of day she's had but her behaviour and attitude was way over the top. You work in customer service in a wide open restaurant. Get used to people who dont have food in front of them looking around and possibly watching what you are doing. I was actually trying to be polite and wait until you were done with your task because I've been in your shoes, worked as a waitress and I know it's a tough job. I wont be going...
Read moreThe food was good. My one star review is solely on the service that we received from our server named Dylan . He forgot to bring the simple items like straws & napkins. We had to ask half way through our meal for them. Second thing that happened was, us a group of 5 ordered appetizers, 4 of us did get our appetizers except for one. After 20 mins we asked about it and he obviously had forgotten. Which is fine but what made it a problem was that he started saying all these appetizers items to our last guest in our group and none of those items was what she ordered. Forgetting it's an understanding mistake. What's not understanding is how a person takes it which he didn't well. He was very sarcastic and condensending. A while later our main meals arrive. Again same guest that Dylan had forgotten her appetizer forgot to bring the ketchup for the meatloaf that was asked for as soon as the plate arrived. He forgot again. So what we do? We went inside and asked another server for some . It was obvious that word spread inside among the servers that service at our table wasn't going well and Dylan over heard the other servers talking about it. What he do? He comes outside to our table with the ketchup he forgot initially even though we already had it that was brought out from another server. He proceeded to talk to our last guest in our group which is 67 years old by the way in a very condensending and rude tone and never did he apologized or admit he was wrong. I personally saw as he walked back inside the store that he was shaking his head and started talking to his other co workers most likely bad about us guest. That was our experience. We still gave him a tip as we decided to be the better person in this exchange. But for all of you reading this if you get Dylan as your server here please know that your service may not be good. If you're the owner of this location I suggest you talk to Dylan and maybe give him some training on how to suppress his condensending and rude behavior including body language and know that once you leave the table your guest are still watching you and how you represent the establishment which can hurt...
Read moreIt was Valentine's evening and the time was around 7:45 when my husband and I were seated. The dining room was not at all busy as there were several empty tables in the middle of the floor as well as booths on the side. We were seated in one of the booths on the side. This was our first time visiting Pepper's and we were happy to find the restaurant so quiet on such a special occasion. Especially considering the fact that we had just called about 45 minutes earlier and been told they were on a 30 to 40 minute wait! 🤔 That should have been our first clue at the door but we are always willing to give a place a try. So, once our server FINALLY showed up at our table, this is how we were greeted..."What can I get yall to drink?" No smile, hello, name, or what about the holiday. It was like that the entire time, too. My husband went part of his meal without any tea and when we could get her attention to ask for something, she would start walking away from the table before we were finished talking and come back with only part of what we had asked for...ex... more tea and extra ice... all we get is the tea. Then she has to go back for the ice and comes back with only 1 glass for 2 people. So at the end of all of this, I attempt to see if the lady at the register will care bc she appears to be done sort of manager. I start by just saying "please tell our server I hope she feels better," going this will spark something. Oh it did, the lady told me thank you bc the server had an infection and they are sending her home early! WHAT? I immediately told her why I was making that comment and that I felt like she should have stayed at home instead of running my meal if she felt that badly. What happened next is exactly why I am doing this review in such depth! That lady turned her back to me and just walked away. She did not care one bit about what may have happened at our table to ruin our special night in her restaurant! That type of attitude does NOT need to get any of the money that my husband works so hard to earn! I don't care how good the food was, I won't be going...
