Five Guys — Restaurant in Boone

Eh. Still good food but…

As others have said, when did Five Guys get so expensive? It’s good, but a burger, little fry and regular drink runs almost $18. Eat for two and you’re pushing $40.

You can go out to eat at SIT DOWN restaurants for about the same, maybe cheaper if you play your cards right. I mean, Five Guys is good, but I might have to start asking myself if it’s truly $20 per person good. I was shocked when the guy read out my total for just me.

Price aside, the workers in this location are pleasant. But I waited at the counter for more than five mins before I even ordered because the two young college-aged employees are left to do everything themselves. They went from cooking to the register. The wait for food was probably 10+ minutes. For the price and the wait time, I could’ve had a sit down dinner down the road at Chilis.

To top it off, tried to order a shake and the “machine was broken.” Pulling an old fashioned McDonald’s trick!

I finished my overpriced burger and fries and drove 200 yards down 321 and got $15 in shakes at Comeback Shack. Probably better there anyway!

Oh well!

It's a Five Guys, what more do I need to say?

Alright fine. Where do I begin... Well first, I'll talk about the fries. To put it bluntly, they are the best fast food/fast casual fries you will probably ever have. And the best part? They saw the argument of "Quantity or Quality?" and they responded with "Why not both?". I'm not kidding when I say a medium order could reasonably feed 4 people.

Next is the burgers, and boy oh boy can they do burgers. The bun, the meat, the bloody everything! They just do it right! It's always hot and fresh, and even if you order a completely plain burger it's STILL great.

You even can get a small tray of peanuts while you wait, for free, and they are some BOMB peanuts.

They got more than just this on their menu, but I've already basically typed an essay about this place.

I don't know how they do it, and I probably don't want to cause you'd probably have to sign a pact with an eldritch deity to make food this good. It's worth the above average...

Normally have a good experience at this location but today August 3,2024 was terrible. Not only was my burger not fully cooked, the bun light and soggy, but it was also missing the grilled onions and it was not cut in half as ordered and as stated on the receipt. I ordered a small fry with Cajun on the side and the fries were covered in Cajun…they fixed the fry issue…when I realized the sandwich was not cut (I was driving and could not eat it that way) I had to turn around and drive 10 minutes back…just for them to tell me they cannot take the sandwich back over the counter to cut it for me but they gave me a plastic knife and it was humiliating to have to go back in for the third time to have to cut my own burger on their counter in front of other customers…I spent $21 on my burger and fry today that just went to waste because it was soggy and not edible after the 25 minutes I had spent...
