This is a follow up to a review that was recently posted where the owner responded in a condescending and rude manner.
I understand that feedback can sometimes be difficult to hear, but we should expecting a more constructive and empathetic response coming from an owner of an establishment when the original comment was not even hostile; it simply pointed out the fact that the food was COLD and STALE. It is not our responsibility to try to correct this, taking time out of our day to go back and, one, deal with a confrontation over food, and two, when it is the establishment's responsibility to get it right the first time. (See picture below. These fries were clearly sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. So sorry we assumed it was a microwave! We'll do better next time!)
The review was an honest account of our experience. The food we received was stale, cold, and did not meet the standards we expected. It is entirely possible for a food establishment to occasionally serve a dish that does not meet quality standardsāmistakes happen. Instead of acknowledging this possibility and addressing our concerns, your response was condescending and dismissive. This approach not only lacks empathy but also fails to show accountability for the quality of service provided.
Your request for us to never come back and the tone of anger in your response were unprofessional and disheartening. Constructive feedback should be an opportunity for improvement, not a cause for retaliation. Responding to customers with such hostility is not only inappropriate but also damaging to your business reputation.
We hope you can reflect on our feedback and consider how future responses might better address customer concerns with empathy and a willingness to improve. We won't be returning, not that it matters to the owners clearly, but maybe it'll be good use...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have given this place three opportunities and all have been an absolute disappointment. My 1st visit was on Fatherās Day when I tried to take my husband for brunch. I was rudely turned down, cook left early due to family emergency(this is a sandwich spot). A few weeks later my friend and I decided Weād give the new local Spot a 2nd chance. After standing in line (1pm or so, they close at 2pm Sundays) for a few seconds I was greeted with a rude sorry we are closed from here on pointing at the people right in front of me, āwe are closed!ā No smile, no apology, nothing. I must be crazy for giving this place a 3rd shot again on a Sunday I show up again a few minutes past 1pm and Iām told they are out of bread and closing. I always went around the same time so not sure if the always use excuses to close early or it was just about me. 1- Closing at early on Sundays is not a great idea but always closing before close time, very rude. 2- You are a new business in town, I donāt usually give 2nd chances I have given you 3. 3- How you treat your customer is just as important as the food you are serving if not more. Best of luck, wonāt be recommending...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAt first impression the shop was cute and well decorated. It has several nice spots to sit indoor and out. At the time the place just had several guests and no line. Ordered two sandwiches to eat there. This is where things went wrong. 25 minutes later still no sandwiches. We had even told them we were in a rush since we had an appt. We asked several times when will get our sandwiches and we were told should be right up but they didnāt come up. Other people were also very frustrated. One couple demanded their money back and left never getting food. The person at the counter claimed they had a bunch of ordered food. Maybe they were doing a catering because not many people were the store or picking up to go food. We should have been informed up front.
At some point he starts informing a couple of people the wait was very long. We eventually got our food and had to run out of there making it clear this experience was not acceptable. The worse part was the sandwiches were awful, really awful. Especially for the high price.
The place is located off main street in Historic Bordentown. Parking is on the street. Sadly would...
