Top Gulf Would Never!!! I rarely leave reviews like this, but after two very different experiences at Chasing Aces, I feel compelled to share the stark contrast between my initial visit and my recent one. The first time I went for my brother's birthday, the food didn’t leave much of an impression, but the overall experience was enjoyable. Fast forward to my son’s 11th birthday, and what was supposed to be a special celebration turned into a series of frustrating and disappointing events that will certainly deter us from returning. Upon arrival, my party of 12 was about 25 minutes early. We were charged for 4 bays, despite only having booked for 2. We were then told the reservation was "cancelled," but that we would need to wait 7-10 business days to confirm that. Confusing, to say the least. We were told to return in 5 minutes, and both bays would be ready—only for us to find that only 1 bay was set up. Keep in mind, we were now running 5 minutes late on a reservation we had arrived 30 minutes early for. The service itself was a mess. Our waitress struggled to get drink orders correct, bringing out the wrong food, and the wait for drinks (including kids’ drinks) stretched on far too long. It took over 20 minutes just to receive 6 drinks, two of which were from the bar. Meanwhile, the waitress seemed more preoccupied with chatting and playing with her hair, along with two other staff members, than attending to customers. At one point, my mom had to step in to help serve the drinks, which was incredibly frustrating. The food was another letdown. My phone was cold when it arrived for the second time an issue that had happened earlier, too. We called the manager to address the situation, but that proved to be just as unhelpful. His staff's poor performance is a direct reflection of his management skills, or lack thereof. The waitress never checked back for drink refills, and when we left, she was rude, which only added to the overall negative experience. Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing birthday celebration for my son. While our first visit was tolerable despite the lackluster food, this experience left us all frustrated and upset. I cannot recommend Chasing Aces at this point, and unfortunately, we will not...
Read moreLots of fun overall. This review is from two visits. The first time we went about two weeks ago and got a second floor hitting bay with two other couples. They claim their bays are climate controlled but really they have some large fans spread throughout the bays. In the middle of summer they really don’t do much, especially since the bays face northwest so you get the sun for the second half of the day. The bays do have heaters which I feel will make a bigger difference in the colder months.
Food and service was good. We tried the brisket nachos and a smashburger. Both were good and our bay attendant was checking in on us fairly often.
Price is similar to TopGolf depending on the time of day. It’s expensive but nothing out of the ordinary for this type of entertainment.
Our second visit was yesterday with the kids and we did the mini-golf. It was fun and more of a “grown up” mini-golf. No windmills or clowns but undulating greens and “bunkers”. Word to the wise if you’re taking younger kids…this course is tough! The greens are fast and some holes it’s pretty much impossible to get an ace (ironic considering the name). Example: a hole has a significant right to left slope. You have to hit it up the slope to get the right angle into the cup but the ball comes down from the slope with so much speed you won’t get it in the hole unless you hit it and it bounces straight up. The only other way to play the hole is to hit it left of the cup on purpose and make your second putt. Kids who want to take it seriously will find themselves frustrated by the speed and slope of the greens.
Overall this place is fun. I didn’t experience any issues with service some of the other reviews mentioned but I know it...
Read moreIt’s great having additional entertainment options in the area, but what is not great is having to pay a premium for it. I paid $100 for two hours and five people. To compare that to Top Golf, it’s about $55 more at Chasing Aces.
The food was good, the drinks were drinks. The time between ordering drinks, appetizers, and the meal I think were spaced out a bit too much. Our attendant didn’t take our meal order until we were done eating our apps. But she was attentive and kept our drinks filled.
The ball tracking software was decent, although a few times my ball landed nowhere near where it said on the map and the ball feeder stopped working, but they had someone fix it in minutes. But again minor issues. Customer service was great, no complaints.
But the overall price though has put a sour taste in my mouth. I get it you’re the only game within 3 hours, but you’re just taking advantage of people at this point.
Edit: Came back for a second time, it only got worse. Our attendant didn’t bring any silverware, no napkins (we grabbed them ourselves), and didn’t come around to refill our drinks. To add this. Why are your handicap parking spots farther away from the front door than the regular spots. That doesn’t make any sense. The tracking equipment had a really hard time picking up a left handed golfer, for every 2 balls they hit it picked up 1. In the end we paid $258 for two hours on the bottom deck, four meals, 2 apps, and four...
