I never leave reviews of restaurants on google. But I had a beyond horrible experience that will stay with me for a very long time. I ate there this past Sunday for a birthday and it turned into a complete nightmare. The waitress had no knowledge of the menu and ordered the wrong food items. Food was so terrible that I did not even eat my food when it finally came out and would not even serve it to my dog. The teriyaki salmon tasted like it was 3-4 days old Salmon. When asked can I try another food item. They said yes and said they would take off the previous food item. I ordered a crunchy baked crab sushi item and that was even worse. The sushi was some of the worse sushi I have had in my entire life. Then when asked for the ticket to pay for my sushi that I did not eat. The manager then proceeded to charge me for the sushi and parts of the previous food item that I only partially ate that they said previously would be removed from my ticket. So I was beyond furious and disappointed that the manager of this restaurant would treat their customers so poorly on top of the horrible food and service. Apparently the restaurant desperately needed the extra 6.00 dollars they charged me on my ticket. There is nothing good to say about this place except to avoid and save your money. I will be very surprised if this place is still open in a year. They should just be ashamed of themselves. No words...
Read moreThis was our first and last time going to this place. We walked in told the person at the door we needed a table for 2 she walked off, I looked at the other person standing there I said do we follow ? She replied yes. That's when we should have left, but we stayed, I ordered veggie egg rolls (that are spring rolls everywhere else) they were AWFUL, they tasted like they were fried in old grease and the wrapping was so thick it was like mush on the inside and barely any filling, I asked the waitress if she would take those off she asked why I explained then she told me that's how they are supposed to be. Really raw and doughy? The first drinks we had were OK but the refills were awful, they tasted and smelled of bleach, I asked her if they clean the machine, cups or ice maker with bleach she replied they did and asked me if I wanted to see them, no I didn't I just wanted a drink that didn't taste like bleach! My daughter said her food was OK, some teriyaki salmon dish. Hours later my throat still burns from the bleach tainted soda. Horrible place, rude staff all around and the cook who was rude. I don't regret eating at too many places but I definitely wish I never stepped foot in...
Read moreIt just isn't what it used to be. Its been some years but when Sushiko first opened it was bar none the best sushi place. The menu was massive but very skilled sushi chefs put pride into each roll with beautiful presentation and taste. Over the years, the consistency has fallen greatly. Decor still holds up but also remains completely unchanged, menu has been consolidated and while the popular items remain, there are lots that have been removed. Service has always been fine, if anything a little spotty but again, nothing like it used to be. Being as I only ever come here for sushi it's a disappointment that it simply doesn't live up to it's former self. Rolls are prepared almost too fast and the presentation clearly shows with messy plates, inconsistent portions and literally zero price. Fish is ok, but also not the freshest. Price vs portion is also threading a thin line as well with some rolls being rather small for their 12$+ price tag. While, not to dissuade , Sushiko is just fine and makes a lot of sense for it's presence at the boardwalk. For me its simply wishing it to be what it once was and then in comparison to other sushi establishments it went from...
