We walked in, and we're greeted immediately and then sat. Off to a good start. We said we needed a minute to look through the menu since our server was trying to see what we wanted to order as soon as we were sat. She literally gave us so much time we sat there awkwardly since there is no background music playing, and you can hear everyones conversations around you. I finally asked my husband if he could see our server, and he said yes, she's playing on her phone. Finally, she came back to the table, and we ordered the fried chicken wings, and they were promptly brought to the table. They were nothing to brag about they lacked seasoning. The booth was on the larger side, so it was awkward that our server didn't bring out any side plates for our appetizer. My husband and I would get a wing and eat one, then push the plate of wings to the other side of the table so that the other one of us could enjoy a wing. It was very awkward. Our server never checked back in with us to see if we needed anything. I finally took out a napkin and used it as a side plate. Our server only came back to the table to drop off our food. The rib pho did have a good flavor, but it was awkward having 3 ribs in my soup, which I had to literally shred the meat myself to place in the pho. My drink went empty, and she yet again never came to the table to check on us. The only time we saw her was when she came to deliver the check. We had ample food left over and had to get togo boxes, which was a joke. It looked like quart size containers that were almost impossible to pour your pho into without making a mess. I told her I wanted to take the ribs home for my dog, and she brought out a plastic bag. I still had plenty of meat on these bones, and having to place them in a plastic bag was not pleasing. Overall, the food was just ok, nothing to brag about, but the service...
Read moreI only found this place by completing a Google search for Vietnamese cuisine in Bossier City, LA. I never would have found this place otherwise. The sign outside is very discrete and it is located at the end of what appears to be a motel. If it weren't for the reviews, I probably would not have stopped. I AM GLAD I DID!
I was greeted immediately upon arrival and the restaurant is very clean. There is plenty of seating in both booths and tables as well as a bar. I went for a VERY early dinner, so I was the only patron at the time, but it started to pick up as I was leaving.
Lee, the server, was very kind and respectful. He was patient with me as I tried to order my meal using the Vietnamese words rather than the English words. I had the Chả giò (Eggrolls) and Bánh Xèo (Vietnamese Crepe). The eggrolls were very good but the Bánh Xèo was out of this world good. I have had many of these in my lifetime, but this was easily one of the best. Cooked to perfection, accompanied by lettuce and other greens to wrap and dip in their great Nước chấm (a dipping sauce).
This place is a true gem in the neighborhood. I'm not often in Bossier City, but when I am, there is no doubt that I will return for another great meal. Next time I want to try their Bún bò Huế (spicy beef...
Read moreI have not ordered something from Divine9 that I didn't absolutely love!! Everything is made fresh and to order. The pho is an absolute must, as well as their spicy beef noodle. The meat and vegetables they provide are always fresh, and the broth is always packed with flavor. Be ready to go home with leftovers!
Will be returning frequently, be it to dine in or as carry-out as it's just as amazing either way. Though do note that if you get carry-out, the add-on veggies for pho might wilt a bit from the heat of the rest of the food- no big deal!
If I have one major recommendation if you want to give this hidden gem a go, try to arrive here using a right turn when driving - NEVER a left. That intersection is extremely difficult to safely turn into from the center yellow lane due to Airline Dr. traffic and SBC drivers in general.
Regardless of my personal traffic gripes, this place deserves more love and attention. If you're a long-time local or just passing through, this place is an...
