El Jimador Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Bossier City

First visit. Had the DeSoto Fajita plate, sweet tea, and water. ALL of the food was way better than average... ALMOST excellent. The fajitas, both beef and chicken should IMO be sliced in thinner strips. The shrimp were cooked properly (not over-cooked) and tasted fine. Onions and peppers were grilled perfectly, and the plate was hot while not being scary branding iron hot.... kudos!

The sides plate was well presented. The rice was great, beans were as expected for commercial canned. The pico de gallo serving was too small IMO, and while it tasted good, needs a little more serrano for kick... MAYBE a little more lemon juice (or jalepeno if serrano peppers are not a stocked ingredient).

Only 2 flour tortillas on a full dinner portion of fajitas? Have no idea what that is about. 4 would be the MINIMUM I would consider acceptable for this plate, 5 or 6 would be better.

Chips and salsa... Salsa was really pretty good and spicy enough even for me. Chips were light and crisp, but the ratio of too small to use vs. usable was too high. Figure out how NOT to fill the customer's chip basket with chip debris.

Service was excellent... attentive without being over-solicitous. I like that! Prices.... right on the border between acceptable for what we received and a little expensive. But, if they fixed the small things above, would be right in the ballpark.

I really enjoyed the music! Selena, Linda Ronstadt, lots of standards, and I even think I hear a Fito Olivaris track. Keep that! :)

All and all, a pleasant experience. I will certainly return for another visit. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys good Tex-Mex, as decent Tex-Mex seems hard to find in this area.

Horrible service. Food was bad and cold. Someone other than our waitress had to take our drink order then she brought us the wrong order. We laughed it off. She took more than 10 mins to return for out meal order. The meal was served cold and after a lengthy wait. My order was wrong and my wife's order looked bad. She just brought me another plate with additional items that she forgot but never corrected my order. Tried to roll with it but the food wasn't good so my wife and I couldn't eat our food. Tried to just roll with it again and pay but the waitress wouldn't bring our bill or any drink refills. At this point, we just want to leave. She eventually shows up and inquires about our food because we didn't eat. I explain and she gets an attitude. She says she's busy. The restaurant was at about 20% capacity. She refuses to bring our bill and walks into the kitchen. Manager brings our bill and charges us for food we didn't eat...which I'm ok with..but not...

Let me TELL YOU!!! I do NOT do reviews often because I’m a VERY picky person I feel like I work hard for my money so if I’m going to spend it at your establishment, I should get what I asked for. That being said, this place is PHHHHHHENOMENAL💯💯💯. I ordered the chicken chimichanga It was cooked to perfection! As SOON as I walked through the door THREE people came to ask me at separate times if I had been helped. The queso was the best I’ve had in YEARS & PLLLLEASE DONT get me started on that Salsa O.M.G🤤🤤🤤🤤🤩🤩. And the customer service was A-1. I initially asked for my queso on the side and it was put on top when I told the gentleman, he was so apologetic, fixed it within minutes and had the best demeanor anybody could ask for. So let me just say THANK YOU for not letting me down if I’m ever in town again, this WILL be my go to...
