Had been wanting to stop in since opening and finally made it for an early dinner! There were ample seats and the staff were all very friendly. Ordered the guacamole and chips- premade, no ability to adjust to preference (spicier, no cilantro etc) but was creamy and good, not five star. Also tried the squash blossom empanada. The filling was really nice but the crust felt heavy and dry, more like a tamale. Made more enjoyable with the side salsa I got. For main, we got veggie enchiladas Verde. The verde sauce is really good, some of the better I've had in this city. I think the black beans were fantastic. The rice, I could skip but it came with the plate and server told me both are vegetarian. Very curious to try some of the other veg dishes like the squash plate and also the mole. Little bummed they charged me 2.50 for a very very small side of habanero salsa, esp since there are no options to get the food spicier either with chilis or salas picante. It's not that it's bland but it does need more heat imo. Hope they do well in JP, would try it again if I'm nearby. But for my Tex Mex fixes, will prob still choose to drive 45 min or more out of the city.

EAT HERE. This is a sleeper spot I randomly happened upon. I have walked by this place before and not really noticed it was there. The door it at the corner of the street. You do have to step up to get inside. My black beans were well seasoned, as was the rice. And the rice was well made, not a sticky mess. The plantains were fried perfectly, I was glad I bought 2 of those. The plantains came with a cream sauce I think, but I didn't grow up eating them that way, and having some cheese on the enchiladas was enough for me. The enchiladas were a little dry, but in their defense, I was 20 minutes late to grab my order, and things were still warm when I got back to where I live. I got salsa that was bursting with flavor and the perfect amount of heat, which also added the moisture the enchiladas needed. They still had good flavor sans the salsa. Good prices, and worth the money. Verdict: RECOMMEND. On a sleepy Sunday, very satisfying.

First time ordering in this restaurant :( I ordered "Chicken breast with Poblano Sauce", the chicken under cooked . -- I ended up throwing the food away-- The portions "to go" are super small (compared to other restaurants in the area). Paid $21.00. + Not worth it :( The staff was friendly and place look good, but the food wasn't good. Rice tested like was made for a "instant box", beans super salty, chicken under cook and portions remind me to school lunches. --I know is a new restaurant and may be working on portions to balance their budget-- But really for that price I can get a better food and better portions in other restaurants in the area. very disappointed customer, not coming back to your place. Thank you! P.s I'm attaching the photo so you can see the real container "to go" they use ... I use baby carrots, 1 apple and 2 Dananimals yogurt so you have a better idea of the portions. :(
