It’s a simple spot. More of a grab and go. But there is seating if you want to eat in, which is what we did. Very well-mannered gents up front. Quick service.

Now, about the food. O. M. G.

TLTR Went in there with relatively high expectations, because of the thoughtful reviews. I was not disappointed. 5-stars on the food.

Tried the beef and lamb gyro, the chicken shawarma platter, and the zaatar and cheese flatbread. For desserts, the baklava and the little round dough balls in syrup (forgot their name 😅.)

Soooo goood!

The best baklava I’ve ever had. Less flaky, more sort of pastry-ish. Not sure how to describe it. Sweet, but not overwhelming. The chicken shawarma platter was a delight. Wow. The rice tasted buttery. Made to perfection. Not too dry. Not pasty. The chicken, perfectly seasoned and roasted. The whipped garlic — wow. 🤯 Can probably eat it on its own. 😅 It’s that good. Wonderfully whipped, smooth, and creamy. So was the hummus. The bread — they make it themselves, which was so nice to see. I don’t know what to compare it to / what it’s supposed to be like. So, not sure how to review it. It’s sort of dry, but soft. Kind of like a cross between a wrap and a pita, but with no pocket.

My friend had the gyro wrap. He said it was really good, but a little bit on the dry side. “A solid 8.” What would make it better? More of the spread (and maybe some of the whipped garlic on the side) so that it’d be less dry.

Lastly, the dough balls and the bread were the least impressive to me, not to say they were bad, just not memorable, especially in comparison to the other items.

Bottom line tho: highly recommend....

Let me walk you through my journey at Ajeen in Allston MA. As I walked through the door to a well established culinary piece of art, I was greeted at the door with a warm welcome by one of the kitchens representatives. The inside is a cozy middle eastern style restaurant with a beautiful brick over and high ceilings. The environment was truly spectacular. I went out on a limb and decided to choose the chicken Shwarma. The smell was something not of this earth, only in my wildest dreams could I ask for a Shwarma so intricately prepared. The charming young woman running the shop even gifted me a Shwarma to go and delectable chocolate wrap for desert. God bless this establishment, God bless Gabriella. 100/5 stars. Would recommend to anyone in the area. I personally drove 1 1/2 hours to eat at this...

I actually came from New Jersey and bumped into this lovely restaurant! And I am so glad I did! They’re actually the only ones in the area that serve “manakish” (flatbread). I have to say they’re manakish taste on-point traditional just like the ones made back home. Their batches are fresh while they knead and stretch the dough in front of you. They also use a brick oven, which I think is what gives it that rich Levantine taste, just the way it “should be”. Mario was very welcoming and went that extra mile with his genuine friendliness and efficient service. We tasted their cheese, zaatar, and meat manakish and they all were beyond delicious and flavorful! Definitely try this place out!
