Hometown staple. I would frequent this place as a child back in the days...and the prices are almost identical. I gave them praise for not raising their prices much over the years, good for them. The same woman works there from those days, and she is nice and dishes out some delicious foods. Things are a little different right now, due to covid, however. I really like the empanadas, and have not had any that are the same. I always talk about them and say they are the best, but maybe I'll roll that back a little. they either lost a step or I held them too high, but they are still very good and are actually filled. They have more inside than other empanadas around, town to town; this is because they are Argentinian, and it's made differently from say puerto rican empanadas, jamican beef patties (which is similar), etc. The pizza has very delicious dough, good amounts of cheese. Fried dough is 92-97% the same as carnival fried dough, and yes it is elephant ear style. The steak tips sub was decent, the pork sub was delicious. I did not care much for the tacos at all. Haven't had the wings in a while but recall them being good. Chicharron was good. I love the place to be honest, and I'm glad they have stuck around after so long and with no big price hikes. I would never be nearby and not visit them.
Foodie #2: "Some of the food was just okay, but overall the food was good." Foodie #3: "The food was good but I thought that they could do better. Love their pizza, empanadas are really good, chicharron was well seasoned." Foodie: #4: "Didn't really like the empanadas, they were okay; the pizza was good and I loved the buffalo chicken pizza, and their pizza is not so greasy. All subs were good, steak...
Read moreAgain, a place where you can drop all pretence, open your heart and get some delicious food at unbelievably affordable price. Snobs putting strong emphasis on scale/class/professionalism might want to avoid. I always rate those criteria critically where they apply. Here, it's a different spirit altogether. So with humility have the joy of trying the fabulous empanadas, the grilled half chicken...and many others. I insist that you try those traditional stuff first rather than the pizzas and...
Read moreEDIT: I'm here to say that after many months apart, Chacho's buffalo chicken pizza is still the best thing ever, Chacho's I love you.
All I get, and all I ever need to get, is the buffalo chicken pizza. As enormous slices, or delicious, glorious, and magically inexpensive whole pizzas. With extra ranch. They don't do delivery, and one time their phone line was out, but doesn't that just make them more perfect? And just a short walk from my apartment....
