Very poor service. The waiter literally YELLED at us and he was so mean to us.
We were celebrating the school’s semester end on monday. We had lots of drinks, first, the waiter left all the glasses and bottles without cleaning for the whole 2-3 hours. Then, one of our friends accidentally drop the corona bottle. The waiter YELLED at us saying we need to leave, it’s monday night why you breaking glasses etc. First off, you open monday night, we didn’t stay after or near the closing time. Second, it’s a bottle of beer, not glasses. Things like this happen at the bar. I’m not trying to justify my friend but the way we were treated was like WE ARE NOT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING. This could have been handled better. He acted like we committed crime or something. My friend calmly apologized (i don’t know how but he managed to be very calm) after the first yell but the waiter just kept going on with that attitude.
I will never go there again and i will tell my friends not to go there. It’s supposed to be a school year end celebration (and i’m not talking about wild party, it’s just us drinking beers, standing and talking to each other). Turned out, this guy ruined...
Read moreThis should be a warm and cozy place (and that is how I remember it from years back), but we popped in recently on a freezing, gusty late November day and they had the air conditioner going full blast even next to the windows. I pointed that out to the bartender thinking it was a mistake and was told that's the way the bartender wanted it. Pretty much a STF up reply. Look: the place is empty and it's not lunch or dinner so it's not like you're doing that for a big crowd or to help out the guys slaving over a hot stove. Seems a little egocentric and very deprecating to the customers. After hanging out for a while with our coats and hats on and icy hands, I asked for the check; I was given a total instead of anything itemized (so, no chance to ascertain that it was correct). What's more, the suggested tips were mathematically way over the true percentages. It'll be there forever because it's a sweet location, but I suggest they need a self-inventory to get back to the warm and cozy neighborhood vibe. I brought my guests there with promises it'd be a friendly classic Boston bar, and we definitely did...
Read moreWent in for lunch and a drink. Showed our Id’s and got a beer, a cocktail, and food. It was great! We left to catch the sox game and decided to go back after. When we went back there we got denied and told our IDs were fake, granted one of us had a temporary ID (although it was still valid and could scan), but I had permanent and we are both 22! The bouncer didn’t even check to see if it could scan or look at it. Just saw the temporary and said “yea no.” When we tried explaining that we had been there earlier in the day and that it was my partners 22nd birthday they told me to stop “lecturing them” and that it didn’t matter. The next two bars we went to had no problem accepting the temporary ID (because we are of legal age, the ID scans, and …. it’s real!). A good bouncer/bar should be able to tell the difference between a real id and fake, especially when we had literally been there four hours before! After reading some other low-star reviews it seems this bars biggest shortcoming is denying people who have valid IDs just because they’re from a different state or they have a passport from...
