TL;DR - The drinks are fantastic. The food is flavored nicely but maybe a bit more care can be given in prep. The front of the house definitely needs the most work and is the reason for the lost star.
To be straight forward, I'm a huge fan of Gordon Ramsay so I had high expectations. But, it's only fair if I compare this restaurant to surrounding restaurants. With that said, our server was pretty bad.
Service -
I never caught the name of our server but that's not important, as the server is just an extension of the front of house manager. After being seated, it took 10 minutes for our server to show up (after I went up to the front desk to ask for a server) and 14 minutes for us to even have water. This may not seem like a big deal but when seating is limited and reservation waits are months out, it's maybe a good idea to be on top of your tables. When she finally did arrive, she felt it necessary to just pull her mask down to tell us about the menu. What's the point of wearing a mask during a pandemic if you're just going to pull it down to talk to us? Needless to say, I wasn't a fan of this person. The front of the house definitely needs some work and they're the reason the rating has gone down. Also, half of the staff is just wearing their masks below their nose. In the biological research hub of the US, that definitely takes the establishment from classy to trashy very quickly, no matter how nice the restaurant is designed (and it is very nice on the inside).
Food -
Beef Wellington: The big popular Kahuna. This dish is certainly delicious. But it's not $60 delicious. It's more like $30 delicious. The pastry encasing was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the beef was not. While the menu claims a medium rare preparation, only about half of the meat was prepared that way. As seen in an attached photo, half of it was definitely rare. As seen on any Gordon Ramsay cooking show, try reducing the heat and leaving the meat in the skillet a bit longer. Otherwise, the flavors were spot on with this dish.
Beet burger: I found this to actually be quite nice. I don't have too many critiques of this dish. The fries were also exceptional.
Baked Mac & Cheese: This dish definitely takes me back to my years in the south. It hits all of the notes needed in a good Mac & cheese dish. My only criticism is that the roux had too much flour. It made the finished product a bit grainy. Try just reducing the roux instead of just thickening it with only flour. I understand that flour is used for this but too much was present.
Dessert -
Sticky Toffee Pudding: This is probably one of the better items that we had on the menu. It's quite a tasty dessert. Definitely get this if you go. It's subtle and not overly sweet. It's just right.
Drinks -
Boston's Inferno: A spin on the Old Fashioned, this drink is a very good interpretation. The only thing I'd add is a Luxardo cherry to fully complete it.
The Old Cuban: Yet another perfect drink by the bar. This bartender doesn't miss.
The Spiced Pear: This one is amazing. I absolutely love this...
Read moreBlessed to partake in Gordon Ramsay’s new restaurant in Boston on opening night! My first impression of the place was that this didn’t look too over the top and was elegant in the design. I thought it was interesting how they split the dining area into a more intimate and dimmed lighting on the right side of the restaurant and then more open area with brighter lights on the left side.
The food and drink menu looked great with a variety of options for any pallette. We chose to go with the braised lamb and of course the famous beef wellington for mains. We noticed how everyone had the mac and cheese and figured we had to try as well. For appetizers we decided on tuna tartare and tamarind glazed wings.
The most important dish of the night, the beef wellington was absolutely amazing! Extremely tender that when you go to cut with your knife, it just slides right through without much effort. All the while the pastry wrapping stayed intact and hugged the beef as you cut. The potato puree was great and the accompanying red wine sauce went well with everything. Root veggies were an afterthought on this.
The lambshank was decent, it was cooked nicely maybe slightly tough in certain areas but the flavor was good. I just wish it was slightly less gamey. The accompanying side dishes included with the lamb were good and helped cut some of that gameyness.
Tuna tartare app was insanely good and highly recommended. The sour cream is an interesting addition and actually tasted amazing with everything incorporated into a single bite. Tamarind chicken wings was possibly my least favorite dish. The glaze just didnt jive well for me but thats my opinion. Other than that the wings were perfectly cooked and tender. Mac and cheese was definitely one of the best side items, it just tastes like a perfect balance of rich creamy and delicious.
Drinks were astoundingly good, I’m a huge fan of whisky type cocktails and the boston inferno was soooo good. If you don’t like cocktails, they have an extensive wine list and apparently they had an in house sommelier to provide info on each wine.
The desert menu only has 4 options but each probably packs a huge flavor punch. We went with the sticky toffee pudding and it was insanely good. Our waitress was telling us that this was Gordons grandmother’s recipe so we had to try it. In my opinion it was a bit too sweet but is a nice way to end a savory meal.
Overall, I enjoyed my time here and the service was top notch. I will definitely be coming back to try some of the other menu items, especially the seafood since we didnt order any on...

If you're in Boston and looking for an extraordinary dining experience, Ramsey's Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay should be at the top of your list. I recently had the pleasure of sitting at the bar, where bartenders Kenny and Brian (aka B-Train) made the evening truly special. Their attentiveness, spot-on recommendations, and expertise in crafting cocktails and pairing wine with food took the experience to the next level.
We began with several appetizers, and the tuna tartare was a standout. Served with precision and artistry, the tuna was incredibly fresh and cut into delicate cubes, topped with a light citrusy dressing that brought out the natural sweetness of the fish. The dish was balanced with just the right amount of acidity, complemented by a subtle kick of spice, while the accompanying crispy wonton chips added a satisfying crunch. It was a refreshing and light starter that set the tone for the rest of the meal.
Another highlight was the bone marrow with crostini, which arrived with the marrow still in the bone, roasted to golden perfection. The marrow was rich, smooth, and velvety, with a deep, savory flavor that was perfectly spreadable on the crunchy crostini. A sprinkle of sea salt elevated the dish, making each bite a luxurious, melt-in-your-mouth experience.
For the main course, we couldn’t resist trying Gordon Ramsay's signature Beef Wellington—and it was nothing short of spectacular. The beef was tender, cooked to a flawless medium-rare, and wrapped in a buttery, flaky puff pastry that provided the ideal contrast in texture. Beneath the pastry, a layer of mushroom duxelles added a rich, earthy flavor that harmonized beautifully with the meat. The dish was served with a silky red wine demi-glace, which tied all the elements together in perfect balance.
The attention to detail in both the food and service was so impressive that I felt compelled to share my positive feedback with the General Manager. Adam, the GM, came out to greet us, and our conversation was genuinely heartwarming. He truly cares about both the food and the overall guest experience, and it shows.
