Nice people working at the store, but unfortunately not the most competent or accommodating organization.
I think you can come here if you don’t care about repair quality or slipping timelines, but anything more urgent or quality-demanding is prob not the right call.
I chose CPR because I was told they could repair my MacBook Pro screen by 2 pm the next day which was key for me to take my computer on a trip with an outbound flight at 10 pm that next day. The day of the flight, I got to the shop at 5 pm (3h after promised time) and was told to come back by 6. At 6 I was told to come by 7. At 7, I was asked to wait in store until 7:45. All of which added a lot of stress before the trip.
Due to the rush, they weren’t able to properly check the system before returning it to me. Once on the trip, I used the laptop for 30 min and thought it worked, but the next time I opened the sceeen without moving the computer in between, it was showing lines and then went out completely. Needless to say that screwed my trip a bit. When I returned to the store after the trip, I was told there’s no warranty and asked to pay part of the cost for a new screen.
I guess the store’s view is that they did the job right and that there’s no warranty on aftermarket screens… I get that and appreciate them waiving labor cost, but from my view it’s pretty evident that something with the part they used or the repair wasn’t right and I’m now asked to pay more. Also, in addition to the initial delay, the second repair cycle took another week with them saying every day that they’re working on it and will call me in the evening which they never did. Poor communication. I learned that timelines slip because they’re partnered with T-Mobile who has some sort of priority over existing jobs. Not a great system.
So yeah, not a place I’d come back to. People there are nice and doing their best, but I think a more reputable place would be better about timelines and take the issue as a write off rather than pass on cost to...
Read moreI went to CPR a broken man...I had broken my iPhone 11 on a trip and now I was at risk of losing all my photos, memories, and notes because I did not want to pay Apple's scam of 5 dollars a month for a minuscule amount of iCloud storage. I had gone to Apple and they said no, instead they conveniently recommended me to buy the new phone for an outrageous price. I did not need a new phone, I only wanted my photos back. I went to Microcenter and they said no, and I had an appointment with u break I fixed for them to take all the data for 400 dollars. I was set on paying an insane amount of money after all those memories meant to me. But one day I was walking by Newbury Street and I came across an angel in front desk assistant form called Nick. He told me that he could not only extract all the information from my broken iPhone 11, but he could also transfer it all to my other phone, an iPhone 12, for only 99 dollars. I was skeptical, I even told him it seemed too good to be true, but he told me I would only pay if it worked, and his humble demeanor and knowledgable attitude reassured me he was a man to be trusted. Even better he told me he could do it all in under an hour, and as I roamed the streets of Boston, Nick and the technician on the shift ( forgot his name but he was working Friday, June 15th until closing) did magic and delivered exactly what they promised. I received my iPhone 12 as an exact copy of what I had on my iPhone 11, and I tried my hardest to not pull Nick into an unbreakable hug. These two guys gave me back 20 years of memories, photos, videos, and more. I almost cried knowing the memories of my deceased family members remained on my phone, and I was given a second chance at keeping them. Thank you CPR thank you Nick and thank you to the technician on shift, I apologize for not remembering your name. GO HERE instead of scammy Apple, its cheaper, better, and the customer service is a million...
Read moreEDIT: I encourage readers to take MegaMobile's response below with a grain of salt. It contains at least two explicitly false statements - I was not offered free diagnostics or any waived fees. Their text below is an email response they sent me a few days ago to which I have already politely replied, explicitly apologizing for any real or perceived rudeness that "flustered" their shopgirl, and in which I continued to politely decline doing future business with them.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I went here to replace my phone's battery. They replaced it with a subpar product and charged me full price. The "new" battery lost its charge as rapidly as the old one. When I went back to have it re-replaced, staff was uncooperative and difficult. They replaced the battery again, but this one loses charge EVEN FASTER than my old one. It has dropped 11% in the 30 minutes since they gave it back to me. Honestly it seems like they either aren't replacing it or like they are using really poor quality products. I went back a THIRD time. They offered to run diagnostics but why would I leave my phone at a place that had served me so terribly so far?? I have zero trust for this store. I asked for my money back, they refused to refund me on my card or refund the full amount. They tossed a little cash at me to get rid of me. Now, it is basically like I paid money to have a worse battery put in my phone, and I'm headed out of town shortly with a phone that loses a full charge in less than half a day. I will never go to this place ever again and definitely discourage you from doing...
