Absolutely wonderful; came here for Easter two years in a row as I come here with my friend for the yearly anime convention. I suggested we come back because we had such a pleasant time last year. So, we came and they allowed us to sit for about an hour without complaint while we waited for the rest of our party to find parking on such a busy street.
Very accommodating; they had no issue with me changing the sauce on my pasta and the type of noodle I wanted, they had no issue with serving our spinach gnocchi appetizer without tomatoes, either. Made sure we immediately had water and refills, made sure we got our bread almost immediately after asking.
Once we were all seated, our actual meals came out quickly despite it being a holiday.
The coffee liquor drinks were wonderful, the warm chocolate torte cake was nice and rich, the gelato took forever to melt. Crème brûlée was wonderfully colored and good, tiramisu was excellent.
The sourdough bread is delicious. Best I've had.
Both people who ordered the pollo parmigiana were pleased, and both people who ordered the steak tips were pleased.
Atmosphere was comfortable, my only complaint was you need to eat with a coat on, as the door is left open (which can't be blamed on them, they have outdoor seating).
I was a little confused that there was a couch in the...
Read moreI went to Piattini last night for dinner and I left very disappointed.
The ambience is nice, perfect for a date or a celebration.
I ordered the short rib parppadelle and it was just bland, even after smothering in Parmesan cheese and pepper, it was just bad, there’s no depth of flavor or anything, and after reading the other reviews I realize I’m not the only one who thinks this. We also ordered garlic breadsticks for the table that came with marinara sauce. The bread was good but the sauce just tasted like jarred sauce. Drinks were also just meh.
On top of that, the service was terrible. We got seated and, I would say, the service started strong, it quickly became sloppy, we were left with our dirty dishes on the table for a good 15 minutes, never we were asked if we wanted another drink, it got to the point where we stopped seeing our waiter (I didn’t catch his name, but our server was a young man with his arm tattooed) and —who I believe was— the bartender, was the one who asked us if we wanted dessert, who brought us the bill and greeted us goodbye.
They also add a 4% kitchen appreciation fee to the bill without explaining what that is, which I thought it was a little odd too.
At the end, we each spent around 100$ each and were left just disappointed. I won’t be coming back...
Read moreI had dinner here recently and with a table outside, the atmosphere was very warm and pleasant, with the gentle breeze and the street ambiance making for a very relaxing evening.
The staff is very courteous and it is a great place to be with a family and/or a casual but fulfilling meal. I started with the Melanzane Affumicate appetizer, which was a very tasty recipe of fried eggplant with mozzarella in a tomato cream truffle sauce. It was a great starter, and the main course was a very delectable Burrata Ravioli dish. The stuffed ravioli drenched in a savory truffle cream sauce with cherry tomato caponata was mouthwatering delicious. The complimentary bread with olive oil is a very hearty serving, and needless to say could get you stuffed easily, as it did with me, leaving no room for dessert. The service I got from Melisa was outstanding; very cheerful and she helped me in picking the dishes. I observed her doing a great job with all the other patrons as well.
The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere inside and they also have a very elegant room with great decor for private parties. Overall, I had a very satisfying time and would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a casual but quality Italian restaurant while out on...
